Shikotu Toya National Park is wonderful, so much to see and explore. The onsen at the Grand hotel were amazing, very relaxing. I would have liked to visit the Ainu museum at Shiroai, but we didn't have time. The Cultural exchange centre near Noboribetsu Station was very interesting though, and they had excellent ice creams.

The hot baths, buffet breakfast with many local delicacies and location, being just beside the Hell Valley is worth experiencing. However, pricing may be a bit steep for the size of the room we stayed.

If the weather is good, I would recommend going up the Observatory where one could view the entire Lake Toya.
Not to be missed is the Jigokudani - Hell Valley and must try the onsen there. Very tourist friendly (surprisingly big towels were provided).
There was a nice cafe near Lake Toya which serves very good pizza.

The hometown of Onsen a.k.a the hotspring bath.
The hometown of Onsen a.k.a the hotspring bath. Hotel in here is kinda on the expensive end, it could cost you almost $400-500/night but it you want to have a nice and good experience it's worth it. There's a few tourist attraction but not much but you can take a bus to a 10mnt near town which is more lively, there's also a ninja village which a must visit for a ninja fans, food is good overall and hokkaido is known as a Miso prefecture, drown yourself into a miso ramen nearby and taste a heaven soup breath life into your cold body in winter which is the best time to visit here around dec - feb. definitely would come again next year after the travel ban lifted ^^
Amazing traditional japanese hotel. The staff was very welcoming, the hotel very clean and calm. Very easy to find, in the main street of Noboribetsu, and very close to the Hell Valley. The diner was huge and delicious! Everything felt very fancy.
And the room!! So big, with a lot of equipment! Could sip a tea wearing a yukata right by the window, watching the snowfall. It felt so relaxing! And the outdoor onsen was an incredible experience too. I have zero regrets about booking in this hotel, even though i booked it very last minute!
The onsen wasn't as luxurious as we thought it would be, but we had a good time. Bath was big and hot, with outside and inside variants. I definitely recommend the outside bath on floor 7 on the north building. Hotel even had karaoke rooms and some arcade and crane machines on floor B1. Food was all-you-can eat for both breakfast and dinner, which was really good and plentiful.
Traditional Ryokan with hospitality and service as its main focus. Staff were friendly and helpful, and made accommodations for our dinner even though we arrived quite late due to the heavy rain. Dinner and breakfast were rich, balanced and delicious, and were served in our rooms. Onsen was extremely authentic, with the signature Noboribetsu soupy and sulfurous onsen waters.
Breakfast was too late for an early departure 8am so didn’t get any.
Wooden floors are creaky and were extremely noisy. You can hear constant walking up and down the stairs even with earplugs so didn’t get much sleep with was annoying.
I wouldn’t recommend staying in Noboribetsu. The Onsen town or muroran would have been a wiser choice.
Had a blast during our stay. Hotel location was easy to navigate as it is close to the bus station. Room was neat and spacious for four people. View was nice and pleasant to look at upon waking up. Futon beds were comfortable. Breakfast buffet was terrific and satisfying. Onsen especially the outdoor ones was a good experience.
Good location at the heart of the Onsen area, right across from a walking trail loop. Property needs some upgrades but it’s retaining the traditional ryokan hotel charm. Service is superb and definitely get the dinner and breakfast option if you love Japanese food- 15+ different items served per meal- in your room!
Excellent service. Property is sparking clean. The hotel has a souvenir shop on site. Onsen is fantastic, especially the open air onsen. Breakfast is very good. The hotel is just few minutes away from the bus terminal. There is a convenient store across from the hotel. Very convenient. I would stay there again.
Onsen for sure. Also that may be by chance, but we got a really good room for 2 of us. Lots of space, japanese-style, great view, 9th floor. I forgot to bring my swimsuit so couldn't check the swimming pool, but the fact they have it already speaks much. Breakfast was good, i enjoyed it.
- extremely close to the Noboribetsu onsen bus station. Just 1-2 min walk.
- warm and helpful staff
- breakfast food clearly marked if it contained allergens
- huge spacious room, comfortable bathroom with cloak area, vanity area, private onsen
- variety of amenities in room
Great location easy to walk around Jigokudani Valley at night or early morning. Beautiful view from a good onsen. Beautiful & large restaurant with a good dinner and breakfast.
The hotel's good location, friendly staff, nearby attractions, walking distance to convenient stores and restaurants, and enjoyable onsen experience were positives.
The hotel is only 5 minutes walk to the Hell Valley and the bus station. As Adex's guests, we were able to use the big beautiful onsen at the Takomotokan hotel.
Lovely place. The indoor and outdoor onsen are amazing. The rooms are comfortable and have everything you need. the breakfast in room was also quite excellent.
