The accommodation is lovely, with spacious rooms, comfy tatami beds, and traditional pyjamas provided. The staff is super friendly and the breakfast is excellent. There's an onsen onsite and other options nearby. An excellent dinner is available at a reasonable price. Also, Tommy's Burger is across the street.
I read that some people commented on the location not being good. I'm not too sure what they were expecting. It's only a 15-10 minute walk from the ski field, and some equipment providers let you store your gear at the base, so it's a pretty easy walk.
I highly recommend this accommodation and would definitely stay there again.

Well laid out, very functional, nice and roomy with everything we needed. Great location with easy walk to slopes, ski almost to door, easy walk to town but the best thing was being next door to the public onsen

Location is a short 5-10 minute walk into the main part of town. Super comfy quilts. We were there in February so naturally a cold time of year. They had lots of heaters thankfully, but once turned off, the house got cold very quickly again. They arranged parking for us close by for a good price.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, there was breakfast in the morning which had a decent selection such as rice, eggs, juice, coffee, toast and cereal. The beds were very comfortable and it was awesome to use the dryer after a day in the snow.

Rustic, but great! The owners are very friendly and helpful. It has a well-worn charm in the common areas, and our room was clean and warm. If you're just looking for a place to lay your head at night, and plan to spend most of your time skiing and then hanging out at a restaurant/ bar afterwards - this place is excellent value. It's close to everything, including the shuttle bus, and they also have their own onsen (albeit a VERY hot one).

Nozawa Onsen was readily accessible by fast train and a bus.
The Village had good amenities including a variety of eating venues.
A free shuttle bus went around the town and to the ski fields every 15 minutes. The ease between getting between the Village, ski fields and accommodation was exceptional. There was even a travellator for going up to the snow and back to the town. The snowfall was excellent particularly as our visit was late in the season in mid March.

Amazing ski resort with great snow and very friendly personnel. Everything worked nicely and the small town center is lovely.
Streets can get narrow so make sure you have parking in advance if going by car. Also check distance from ski lifts.

Beautiful, clean inn with wonderful hosts.
Beautiful, clean inn with wonderful hosts. Great common premises, especially the kitchen, which is great for breakfast (you can buy coffee pods at cost from the host). The futons were very comfortable. We hope to return!
Recommendation for future guests: try to make reservations for restaurants for your entire stay once you arrive (and the inn staff can help) to avoid lining up in cold weather.

Stick to businesses owned and operated by local Japanese.
Stick to businesses owned and operated by local Japanese. Those owned by foreigners are often over-priced with inferior service....sure you might get to speak English, but stay home if that's important...;)

Amazing and cute little village!
Amazing and cute little village! Ski hill is great too (needs a bit more English signage). Be sure to book any of the nicer/better restaurants way in advance! These book out quickly (Aussies book these places out!)

An amazing and authentic Japanese experience.
An amazing and authentic Japanese experience. The rooms were brilliant and the Onsen was next level luxury. Made the whole ski experience a pleasure being just a short stroll from the Yu road travellator access. Highly recommend it
The breakfast was delicious. Varied, nutritious and traditionally Japanese. Real attention to detail and we looked forward to it each morning. The staff at the hotel could not have been friendlier. They picked us up from the bus stop and helped us get discounts for the ski hire. They also went to buy discounted ski lift passes for us when needed. Little things as well like providing wellington boots for our walks into town (after a deluge of snow) made this visit very special. Thank you so much .
The Host Saiko was so wonderfully charming, and kind and accommodating. The lodging was authentic, traditional and relaxed. Very convenient location- couldn't be improved- right by an onsen and the ski travelator in the middle of Nozawa Onsen. Delicious breakfast and dinner. Wonderful staff, Diana also did everything to ensure a smooth journey with any issues we had easily sorted. Heater in the rooms very useful as rooms can get quite cold in the Winter.
10/10 to the super amazing and hospitable crew. My family and I visited Nozawa Onsen during mid of Dec (we went too early and the ski resorts were shut due to the lack of snow :( we were really sad, but all the staff in Schneider Hotel is super nice and friendly and they have made our stay so much more pleasant!
The interior of the hotel and rooms are super cozy and nice too!
The hotel was in a great location, right on the slopes. It was a bit of a walk to get there, but they offer a lot of shuttle and luggage transport options if you need it. The room was clean and very nice, as were the hotel baths, bar, and breakfast area. It was also very convenient to be able to pickup and return our Shirakaba rental gear right there at the hotel.
We love everything about this property! Our host is lovely and greeted us with local apples! The location is perfect for restaurants and onsens after skiing all day. The shower room is amazing!! Also, a washer and dryer which is so helpful with ski clothes. Nozawa Onsen is my favorite part of Japan. We can’t wait to visit again. Thank you for a wonderful visit!!!
The location was close and great for walking to everything and the accommodation was modern and clean. The lodge is run by a Japanese family and they were really helpful and friendly. We
Loved the morning breakfast they made each morning. Bus stop just 50 meters away to free bus to ski resort. Highly recommended and will be coming back.
We had the Japanese breakfast and it was delicious! The facility was clean and lovely accommodations . The location was so close to nozawa gondola 5-8 minute walk., close walk to/ from bus station and town . Skiing was excellent and Utopia has coupon for rentals. We would very much like to stay here again if we return to Japan.
Elizabeth is an excellent Hotel and we highly recommend. Located midway between the main village and the Nagasaka Gondola made for perfect positioning.
We left a wallet behind and the staff were amazing in getting this sent to our Hotel in Tokyo, literally arrived the next day. Couldn't thank them enough :-)
The location is just great, even though there are hotels closer to the ski slope. There is a shared kitchen available to prepare any meal you might want. There is also laundry room. The hosts are the most helpful, nice and friendly. Onsen is just across the road.
The breakfast was great - hot and ample and the location of the hotel perfect, just beside the Nagasaki gondola base station. The men's bathroom was generally empty so easy to enjoy the bathing experience.
Rie san, the owner, quick response if we have question. Clean and nice place.
We are so grateful for her kind hospitality during our stay. 100% will stay here again if we come back Nozawa Onsen.
Excellent location. The hotel is exactly as advertised. Not luxurious but a clean, traditional style Japanese hotel.
Good breakfast and staff were friendly and very helpful.
Would highly recommend booking the in-house dinner meal. I had the most enjoyable, traditional meal of my entire stay in Japan here :) arigato gozaimasu!
