KON accomodation had everything we needed. The house is very comfortable and quiet. The host and his mother were very friendly and helpful. The host came to the port to pick us up and he brought us to the accomodation. We rent two bikes and there are plenty of possibility to discover the island. There is a great Ramen restaurante at a walking distance and an amazing sushi bar 港鮨 at the port (Habu Port)

We enjoyed a lot staying at your place. We found it beautiful and authentic and spent a very happy stay with our granddaughter. For our French Japanese family it was quite an experience. You were very helpful and we loved the food so fresh and home prepared. Thanks for the explanation about the Samue. Hope to come back one day at your place. Fabienne & Jeans & Sophia & Manon

The island isn’t big but filled with activities which is great because in just 2/3 days it’s possible to do everything it has to offer. We rented some bikes and used them to travel around, which was fun but I only recommend to someone in good shape because the road are not flat at all, plus wind and sun can make it even tougher. One thing you must try is the ice cream, which is probably one of best I have ever eaten

It was just a short stay but I already got so excited to discover Oshima more in the next visits. I got to cycle around town and watch beautiful coastline in the sunset. The beauty of the untouched nature here was amazing! I also went to Izu-Oshima Volcanic Museum and learned a lot about volcanoes, not only in Oshima or Japan but around the world as well. This is definitely an interesting destination to travel in Japan.

If you are looking for an extreme adventure this island is for you! It looks abandoned, most local business are closed and you never know whether you can leave the island because your boat could get cancelled at the very last moment. The weather conditions are unpredictable. If you are ready to hike for 17 kilometers in order to take a look at the active volcano this island is for you. Don't expect high quality service, most restaurants are closed but there was one grocery store that was open with ready to eat food which practically saved our lives. This island is definitely not for a romantic trip rather for people who are looking for a place to escape the reality and to explore wild nature.
