After staying in hostels most of the time, this was a welcome treat. Very comfortable beds. Lovely view from the room. There were lovely goodies for a luxurious bath and comfi pyjamas. The hotel is quite a distance from the park entrance but I booked a transfer for the morning which came right on time and was included in the price. You can also drop your bag at the entrance of the park, which will be taken to your hotel so you can enjoy the park without your luggage. Very well organised.

I loved this place! It was right across from the harbor where you can catch boat that takes you around the 208 islands of Kujukushima. It was also just a beautiful place to walk. I loved the baths in hotel. Clearly they are older, but they were nicer, more authentic than ones I encountered in the modern hotels. The food, both for breakfast and dinner, was so special and delicious. Its an older place, with 1970s vibe so so expect something different, but it was very endearing. They also had an awesome, efficient beer pouring machine for happy hour!

Sasebo is literally the best place on earth. No joke or hyperbole. The people are warm, the nature is beautiful, the food is great, there are loads of things to do, and it's a calm peaceful haven in a world that usually isn't.

Walking distance from the Ginza shopping district and the train station. I personally love how easy it is to travel to nearby locations as well.
Been in Sasebo for about a year and still haven't seen everything there is to offer.

I live in Sasebo, been here for years, and I love it! It's a perfect balance between the city and the countryside, with everything you need, and all the wonderful sights to see, especially Huis Ten Bosch, one of Japan's biggest theme parks. If you want a break from the big city and want to experience a smaller but very beautiful and diverse place, head to Sasebo.

Sasebo is a small town, I was made to feel welcome in the local restaurants and bars I went to. The city is in a beautiful location on the south-west coast of Kyushu and there is lots to do. I will go back.

We visited Sasebo with our son who was stationed at the US Navy base 10 years ago. We enjoyed walking around the perimeter of the base and some areas he frequented. Spent only a day and a half in the city.

It took too long to get from Nagasaki airport to the hotel.
It took too long to get from Nagasaki airport to the hotel. The hotel's location in the city is ideal with shops and restaurants all around. It is a buzzing, bustling city. Wish i had more time to explore the beautiful parks.
The interior is not very new, but it was super clean. The room had a lovely view to the mountains. You could also see the sea side from the windows in the hallway. The staff are nice and helpful, but sometimes they speak only Japanese.
The location is just perfect! Right in front of Sasebo train station, and the first floor of the hotel building is the bus terminal e.g. for Hakata, Hirado, etc. There are several 24-hour convenience stores around the hotel and in the station.
What I like about this hotel is its location and the room. The bus station where we dropped off is within the vicinity of this hotel. Their room bed is comfortable unlike other hotels we stayed around sasebo, their rooms are clean, amenities are great! On the top of that, I have requested some stuff like coffee and the staff are nice enough to respond to it. So, overall this hotel has been our choice and the place we’ve been staying whenever we travel for work.
Great location, next to the train station. The hotel is old and a bit worn out, but except that everything was fine. All necessary utensil available (hairdryer, electric kettle, etc.).
The breakfast was great, fairly cheap and really tasty (Japanese style). I really like the restaurant they serve the breakfast, old style with pool with live fish they serve (have to try it next time for dinner).
The staff were so friendly and welcoming to me. I had a package that I was awaiting to be delivered and they did what they could to chase it down before I left. The location in the town was good but still a decent walk if you’re going to the train or bus station. The room was perfect and comfortable for a solo traveller. Would love to stay here again.
The hotel is just located at the entrance of Huis Ten Bosch ("the Park"). There is a private pier for us to take a boat to the Tower City in the Park. I have booked a room with the Park view and the view is really fantastic. The onsen in the hotel was great as well. Sure we'll come again.
Huge room, the biggest I have stayed in, in Japan. Comfortable and luxurious. Helpful and friendly staff. Great free baggage delivery service on offer which delivers your baggage to and from the hotel from the park entrance allowing you the freedom to explore the part without worrying.
The hotel is very old, and worn down. The room was decent but old. The staff were super nice and helpful. The location was near the Huis Ten Bosch entrance but I think if we visit again we would book the hotel inside the park such as the Waterfront hotel, which was even cheaper.
The breakfast buffet was superb and had probably 20-30 items to choose from plus eggs made to order and the Sasebo special lemon steak. The rooms are small but tidy, clean, and efficient. I travel to Sasebo frequently for work and plan to stay at Sunwest each time.
This hotel is in a great central location. Rooms are tidy and clean. The breakfast was delicious and of course, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful!
