The Okhotsk House is very spacious and beautiful. Well located,
in the center of Shari, close to all amenities.
The house is very pleasant to live in.
The Japanese-style room is particularly comfortable and I enjoyed sleeping there.
The bathroom is large and perfect for a relaxing moment.
There is also a nice kitchen, although I didn't use it. (There are some very good restaurants in Shari!)
The heating reinforced the cozy character of the house, while outside you can watch the snow fall. All this in a magnificent setting, because the Shari-Shiretoko region is truly magnificent to discover...
The host, from the real estate agency, is very friendly and responded to all my requests. Thank you for this lovely stay in Shari! I would love to come back soon again.
Located just 46 km from Lake Kussharo, Mizu no Gakko features accommodation in Shari with access to free bikes, a shared lounge, as well as private check-in and check-out.

A holiday detached property in a place like a school ground/ holiday camp. Quiet. The accommodation is very spacious but basic looking. Everything is ok and works. Little communication but there was someone in reception to check in with no problem. Location is good for us to explore 2 places: Shiretoko Peninsula and Lake Kussharo, and much cheaper than places in Shiretoko Peninsula.
Shiretoko Daiichi Hotel features indoor and outdoor natural hot spring baths, a hot tub and 6 dining options. It offers contemporary Japanese-style rooms, a free shuttle service and free Wi-Fi.

The eat&drink-all-you-can dinner was delicious and the food was prepared on order. Menu varied for the two nights.
View of the frozen port from the room was calming.

We came to Shari during the early February winter to see the drift ice. We took the Shiretoko airport liner to Abashiri for the boat tour to see drift ice, didnt manage to see it because of the strong wind. After that we sit the same aiport liner straight to our hotel at Kiki. It was a winter wonderland here, you could see a lot of snow. The next day. we signed up for 3 local tours operated by Shinra, and they do not disappoint. In the morning we went for a walk in the snowy forest, and it fell really enchanting and beautiful. In the afternoon, we walked on Drift Ice, it was a really unique experiences. In the evening, we went around to see the seagull and eagle, and the sunset, it was beautiful. At night we have our dinner buffet and onsen at Kiki hotel, it was really enjoyable relaxing. We went back to the airport the next day morning. It was a really memorable trip for me.

This area is where Shiretoko National Park is and definitely worthy of a visit when in Hokkaido. Seafood is abundant so a Kaiseki dinner will include various dishes featuring their local catches including unique fishes, plates of delectable sashimi, and my favorite crab miso soup. The views in autumn are spectacular with colorful foliage and breathtaking ocean vistas. We were happy to see brown bears, eagles, fox, deer, various birds including the elegant Tancho, Japanese red crested crane. This trip exceeded our expectations and was most memorable!

It's one of those edges of civilization with a very special own little ecosystem. Shiretoko national park is a real primeval forest and has a high density of wildlife, including multiple species of majestic birds of prey, as well as brown bears. The landscape is just phenomenal. There are multiple hikes (not for the faint of heart though), but also sightseeing boat trips, and guided tours.
The staff were extremely helpful. We were not driving and decided to hire a taxi for half a day to take us to the sights we wanted to visit. A gentleman at the front desk helped us to arrange the taxi hire (the only one taxi serving the area!) , conversing with us in English using the translation app while explaining to the taxi driver in Japanese.
We were also grateful for the help of the lady at the souvenir store, who took the trouble to work overtime to take care of our request for luggage delivery to our next destination.
The house is close to station SHIRETOKO SHARI. It also has a parking place in front of the house, seems can park two cars.
Next to the house, there was a French restaurant and Izakaya, a convenient place for dinner. And a Secomart which is the convenient store of Hokkaido located opposite of the house.
The house has two twin-bed rooms, one Japanese styled room with Tatami, feels good for 5-6 people.
I would appreciate the host, he shared us some information about the house and restaurant, made us a wonderful journey.
The moment your car pulls up, you are greeted by smiling staff who give 90 degree bows and offer to help with your luggage. You are greeted by a lovely woody scent the moment you enter the place, as well as more staff who greet you. My family absolutely loooved the breakfast buffet! The onsen was also amazing and I went there every night. I also really liked the cute decor and furniture of the hotel lobby; each piece was unique but worked together well. My family really liked Kiki and I was sad to leave.
The room is spacy and comfortable. The location of the hotel is far from the utoro onsen area but they have a shuttle bus to take the guests from and back from the bus station. If you have a car it is convenient as the hotel has a parking area.
The ocean view from the room was so marvelous and the sound of the sea waves were so relaxing.
The staff are friendly and provide the best they can. If I go again to Shiretoko I would definitely consider staying there.
The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous from the moment you walk into the lobby/check in area. The staff are wonderful and go above and beyond to ensure the guests are taken care of; this happened at all times. I wish I could have spent another night to experience more of the facility and the local area as well. The view of the ocean from my room was incredible, especially since it was snowing the entire first day and night I was there.
The location is in a forest with no buildings around, and is great for nature lovers. The open-air baths of the hot spring are a style of mixed bathing with a bathrobe. There is also a hot spring in the forest near the hotel (no dressing room). The staff are very friendly.
Quiet, simple and homely onsen hotel. There's a private outdoor onsen that required booking but it's free. There's also public onsen. Everyone was friendly and rooms are cozy. Lovely view outside hotel and lovely tempura dinner and breakfast.
Good location & value. The facility was clean and provided all we needed. I thought it was much nicer than typical hostel type, but still much cheaper than other hotels in the area. So, I was overall very pleased with this lodging.
It was a very comfortable resort hotel with a great view and excellent facilities. The room was huge, with plenty of space for sleeping and relaxing. Breakfast and dinner buffets were good, with a wide variety of choices.
I was really impressed by the size of and private onsen in the room and food selection during breakfast and dinner. For my 16-day Hokkaido trip, I spent the 3 most comfortable and enjoyable days at this hotel.
Nice hotel with amazing food. Onsen is nice. The room was very small, which felt out of touch with the price. Would be nice if they offered shuttles to the station.
Very clean, modern and well equipped house. Everything worked smoothly. Plenty of space, much bigger than most Japanese hotel rooms!
Very good internet too.
