If you need a little bit of quiet and relaxation, Batcave Homestay is the place to do it in Battambang. About a 20 minute tuk tuk ride from town, with incredibly easy access to the mountain, killing caves and bat caves, this place is the one to choose. Amenities are basic, but the host and his family are very welcoming and hospitable. Esaro arranged absolutely everything for me - from collection at the bus station, tour to the caves, fully day tour of sights and city. His wife is an excellent cook and breakfast and dinner were delicious, with the freshest fruit grown in their own garden.
The shared bathrooms were super clean and well maintained, the rooms were comfortable with mosquito nets and a fan over the bed, and the hammocks were the perfect spot to relax and have an afternoon nap in.

Beautiful, charming, friendly: just a perfect stay. Mattress was too hard to my taste but I asked and they provided a topper and all was then perfect again.

Pretty much loved everything! Family running it are so kind and helpful. They helped us organise trips/best ways to get to attractions, and they even brought us some free food which was so kind. The rooms were super modern and really clean - bedding was super soft/Western style rather than the thinner ones we were given elsewhere in SE Asia. Location was super quiet and peaceful too so we slept well - like a 10-15 min walk into the centre. Bed was comfy. AC was decent.

We stayed at Savet’s for 2 days. The accommodation was lovely and very clean. They really took care of us and made us feel at home. Savet’s wife made us some of the best dishes we ate in Cambodia.
What we enjoyed the most was joining Savet on his guided tours. We went to explore more about the traditional professions that they have in Battambang, and also joined him on a village bike tour which is a must try! I would also highly recommend the dinner experience with his family and friends (prepare for great food and an unforgettable karaoke night 😉).
Overall a fantastic homestay with exceptional hosts. Truly a great time and experience. We would strongly recommend.
