Oualie Beach Resort, hotel in Nevis

Situated right on Oualie Beach, this family-run resort offers lush gardens and charming rooms set in Caribbean-style cottages.

The location is remote, with a beautiful view of the beach from our room. The room exceeded expectations, as it was spacious, clean and although not modern it had a nice feel. Michelle at the restaurant was pleasant and the afternoon restaurant staff were also very communicative and helpful. We had breakfast and lunch and some cocktails during our 1 night stay, which was nice. The rum punch was authentic and strong (lol) and the prawns at lunch were fresh and delicious - all reasonably priced. The water taxi was in very close proximity to the hotel, costing $15 per adult and $7 per child to get back to St Kitts in 7 mins (although a bumpy ride). The location suited our needs - although I couldn't imagine staying here for longer than a few days as there's not much else close by.

Nevis Island is a little odd for a Caribbean Island.

Nevis Island is a little odd for a Caribbean Island. It has very few beaches and the sand is medium brown and coarse because it is volcanic. The water at the beach isn't the super clear Caribbean Blue that I expected for a Caribbean Island. There also isn't much entertainment activities on the island except for the beach. The local people I met were great. They are very gracious and generous and pleasant to meet and converse with. If you want to get away from it all Nevis is a great choice. If you want a vacation with a lot of action Nevis is probably the wrong choice.

This is an exceptionally easy country to travel in.

This is an exceptionally easy country to travel in. The locals are very friendly, and treated us to excellent Hospitality everywhere we went. Wonderful country for active people who want to enjoy some challenging hiking, cycling, and water activities. It is very safe. Be sure to spend time exploring Nevis, it is a beautiful place and the people are lovely. Rent a scooter for the day if you want to explore on your own, try the local restaurants in Charlestown, Pinneys Beach, or other hotels such as Golden Rock and Montpelier.

The most charming Caribbean island I visited.

The most charming Caribbean island I visited. Rent a car and drive around all small hotels and experience different beach clubs and restaurants. Owners all have passion for Caribbean life and history and it shows in their properties.
