At the top of Adam's Peak it is quite cold and windy, you will be walking up and sweating. In order not to freeze at the top while you wait for dawn, I advise you to take extra dry clothes to change at the top (there is a toilet there), a windbreaker and a thermos with hot water. And don't forget the sunscreen, as soon as the sun comes out it won't spare you. This is an amazing place call mountain Malaya, where Guru Rinpoche gave Tantric Teachings in the Tibetan tradition for the first time on earth. And also the place of Dakinis. Glad that you will be there. Make a wish for the benefit of all sentient beings(you are one of them ;)) ! :)

There is a lake and Tea Gardens nearby. However you cannot visit either of them. You can only drive around and take in the views.
What is quite nice is to climb up the Adams' Peak. The climb is good for those who like climbing and hiking.

We got to the top of Adam's peak to find a locked gate- very disappointing, as we couldn't get a view of the other side of the mountain! Apparently it is only open in season and I think this should be changed

This is a site every visitor to Sri Lanka should travel to.
This is a site every visitor to Sri Lanka should travel to. Which has historical, cultural value, hiking experience very difficult to find on most other tourist destinations. Can complete in one day (one night booking). Just about 4 hours travel from the capital, Colombo. All year cold temperature.

It's amazing area to travel.
It's amazing area to travel. Specially adam's peak is the most enjoyable hiking mountain with sri lankan traditional activities. All can enjoy with the mountain view and the waterfalls. There are lots of hotels and restaurants in that area with relevant prices.
Really liked this place. Seemed like a hotel run by a more youthful gang which gave the place a very relaxed atmosphere. There is a nice chill area where you can just relax and/or have your food/drinks.
The meals were very good, home cooked, and there was enough choice for everyone's taste.
The rooms were cozy and the balcony has a nice view into the mountains.
It really felt like a "cottage" on the hill along the road and it is a great location to start your journey to Adam's Peak.
Note, cash only!
We planned hiking Adam's Peak (Sri Pada) for a sunset from top Temple and this Motel was a great place to have some sleep before hike. Host helped us with some tips and we had delicious dinner (even if there was no electricity - it broke in that area for some hours that day). We woke up 2, was at entrance gate around 2:30-2:45 and we made it for beautiful sunset. Then came back for huuuge tasty breakfast at Motel. Biggest breakfast in Sri Lanka. Thanks so much for your hospitality! Greetings!
Absolutely amazing place to stay near Adam’s peak. Nice, clean and spacious rooms with terrace and view on surrounding jungle. Owner is super kind and helpful, together with her mother they cook delicious food, I recommend rice and curry :) They will also provide sandwitches for trip to the mountains, egg hoppers for breakfast after you come back, arrange laundry and tuk tuk if needed. You can also have interesting conversations and get to know more about Sri Lanka❤️
I arrived there after a long journey with my tuktuk from Dambulla. The friendly people immediately welcomed me and helped me with my bags. Than I asked them a lot of questions about Adam’s Peak and he answered all of this without a problem. So very nice and friendly people! I also ate chicken Kottu there and it was my best meal in Sri Lanka so far! The room was very big, large shower and large bed. really nice! Would book again if I came back for sure!
The room was clean and we got a upgrade. Additionally, it really is the nearest hotel to the Adams Peak - you just have to step out of the hotel and you’re directly on the path to the top! But what was the best at this location was the more than friendly staff! We got such a good welcome, an upgrade to another room, perfect food in the evening and morning and a pick up and drop off shuttle plus many informations!
If you’re hiking Adam’s Peak, stay here. You will not find a lovelier and more knowledgable hotel owner than Nimal. Rooms were spacious, hot water a standard and the food offered in house was exceptional!
He went above and beyond for us. Also I felt great that I could support a new hotel and you can really see the effort Nimal and his team put in to grow the hotel to make sure you have the best stay.
Had a good night sleep in the Vegetable Garden House before hiking Adams peak! Really nice place. Beds are comfortable. Dinner and breakfast where both super tasty, home cooked in Sri Lanka style. Place is very quit in the night. I would stay here again. When we arrived the town didn't had any power. So we had a romantic candle light dinner :).
Perfect location close to the start of the Adam’s peak trail, and the host was fantastic. We had our best cup of tea in all of Sri Lanka here on arrival, made from tea from the area. Breakfast after our hike was great. Host offered a taxi and helped us catch the bus back to Hatton. Room was clean and spacious. Great stay!
That's closest hotel from entrance to Adams Peak. Most friendly and helpful host I ever meet. Lovely breakfast. Room is very clean with amazing views. I can't imagine to chose different accommodation to go Adam's Peak. Great value ether. You won't be disappointed, recommended to everyone!
The hotel is clean, nice and great located. There is a nice view when you go out of the room.
Chatu, The owner of the place was kind, generous and helpful. Chatu has really good suggestions on where to go and offers really good food in the place.
The owner is very pleasant, he adapts very well to your needs. Don't hesitate to ask about lunch/dinner. Excellent Sri Lanka real food with fresh ingredients and very reasonable price. It is the closer to Adams peak start.
We had a lovely stay here before climbing Adam's Peak - they even served us a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast afterwards before we headed back to the train station. Would highly recommend!
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone
Really nice place to stay. Excellant hospitality. Foods also great and tasty. Very cleaned rooms. I can recommend this hotel to all. Thank you for service.
