This is a very good hostel. I had been having a very gruelling time at home with my extended family and was really struggling for sleep due to our living arrangements. I just needed somewhere to recharge and this was perfect. The lobby area had a very cool design. The staff were very helpful in recommending places for me to grab some food. Had I come for another purpose (e.g. sightseeing etc) the location of the hostel is also perfect, positioned in the heart of port city. The showers were very clean (for a hostel) with good wash facilities and hot water. And the room was immaculately clean with a very comfy, soft queen-sized bed. My purpose of going was fulfilled. I slept very well.

Improvements - in the restaurant area, coffee and tea making facilities to be a bit more secure and spacious. To cater more for western tastes as opposed to locals - ie more cereals and yogurts. At time a bit too tight for numbers.
Pay more attention to health and safety around the tea/coffee area. Milk gets very hot, better signs to indicate this.
When floors are being mopped, to use wet floor sign so people are aware.

Colombo is now getting better after a recession few years back. They are on a speedy recovery. There are lots of places you can visit for sightseeing. If you are going on a business trip, Colombo is an ideal space for staying as they have all the good locations (especially importers and huge markets). Better book private hire through a car company, it's way cheaper if you want to explore the city. Walking is also a good option.

Beautiful city with clean and green infrastructure.
Beautiful city with clean and green infrastructure. Recommended for Indians to visit. Shopping was good (Visited - One face mall, City Center mall, Havalock city mall). Galle face location was great to spend some time with family. Independent square, Gangarama Buddhist temple, Lotus tower tourist spots were nice. 2 days is enough to cover Colombo city.

Havelock Garden BNB is very modern with a very pleasing aesthetic feel. It was spacious and had all the amenities you could possibly need. Great location with some great finds on your door step. Bus service, tuk tuks, shopping Mall, with a free ATM outside (inside charges) Sim card shop 50 metres away apx - end of the road. Sky Bar with infinity pool called Me Bar. Great to watch the city light up and it is happy hour 5-7pm - walking distance . To mention but a few. The housekeeper goes above and beyond to ensure you have a comfortable stay and her Sri Lanken Breakfast is delicious and will set you up for the day. We could also have an english breakfast if desired. We would most definitely stay again.

The city is busy with chaotic traffic.
The city is busy with chaotic traffic. On the night of the 25th city roads from Colombo 3 to Fort were closed and we did not know. When we got a taxi (Uber and Taxis were not able to reach us) they charged 6 times more than the usual fare. The tuk-tuks often charge foreigners very high fees. Make sure you get into one with a functional meter. There are good places to eat. Don't eat street food because their hygiene habits are questionable. Colombo is reported as a dengue-prone area. So use mosquito repellent. During December, there weren't many. Ask the hotel you stay for taxis or use their local Pickme app. Yet it is often wise to check the agreed fee. Otherwise they charge much higher.
I’ve been travelling around Sri Lanka and have even stayed at top end five star hotels with amazing staff. When I checked into Rockwell Colombo I had the pleasure of meeting a staff filled with superstars. Fiona Fernando, Inusha jayawardana, and Lahiru Gayan by far have been the best hosts. They made my stay at Rockwell Colombo with as much comfort as I would get in my own home. I am happy to have stayed here and become a part of the Rockwell family. God Bless these folks :)
My stay at ME Colombo was awesome. Overall I had a great experience from the time of check in through check out. Shenella was supper helpful getting us checked in and followed up during out stay. Shenella also assigned us a great room. The room was very clean. The best part of this hotel was the pool and the view. Perfect place to have a beer and chill. We had dinner at the hotel that night and Roshan made some great recommendations for dinner. Love this place..
I always stay at the Beehive hotel whenever I come to Colombo for some work. The hotel is conveniently located in Colombo city center. Just 10 meters away from Galle road near Majestic City. They have very reasonable prices given the centrally located area. The hotel owner and the staff made my stay comfortable and hassle free. Room had good AC a comfy bed and an attached bathroom along with other amenities. Thank you for everything.
During my whole time in Sri Lanka the best hotel I went to! Everything was great: location / staff/ cleanliness/ amazing view/ rooftop terrace with pool/ restaurant (food was very delicious).
they even send someone to my room for doing my needed PCR Test for my return flight (so no need to go to the hospital & long waiting!).
big thanks especially to the Front office Team who supported me a lot.
We stayed here just before heading to airport. Location is awesome, just next to Gangaramaya Temple. Quite short distance to any activities in Colombo. We really liked that it was like 3 minutes walk to the mall under Marriot hotel. The Marriot hotel's skybar was awesome for watching sunset and having a drink.
Hotel room was good for the price, with working AC.
It’s a contemporary B&B property with 3 levels, and centrally located in Colombo city. There are food options easily available with Uber eats. The room was very clean and tastefully done with fresh towels and linen. It’s a quite peaceful location. Ms Sharma who us the caretaker at the B&B was very accommodating and prepared us the best Sri Lankan breakfast
Super central, decent hotel in the middle of Colombo. It's not a five star resort, but clean, the staff is incredibly kind and helpful and welcoming, breakfast is nice and filling and Aircon was working. Also, on the day i checked out, i was able to leave my luggage there while I was exploring :) couldn't have asked for anything more, i was very satisfied.
It was such a comfortable stay with great facilities. The staff were very friendly and professional. I ordered a chicken Kothu as room service from the Asylum Colombo restaurant located within the hotel and it was one of the best Kothu's I have tried in Sri Lanka. Great rooftop views with a stunning pool. Highly recommend and will visit again! :)
This place is a very good choice for a stay in Colombo.
The villa is a very qiet place, you´ll meet a very friendly team and the rooms are nice, modern with a traditional touch. Good Wifi!
Try the Sri Lankan breakfast!
Best places for sunset: Mount Lavinia Beach or Galle Face Hotel.
We will definitely come back next time.
This has to be one of the best hotels in Sri Lanka. It is the best accommodation I've stayed in, in the 5 weeks I've spent in SL. The hotel itself was immaculately cleaned, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the linen was soft and clean. The infinity pool was great to cool off and watch the sun set 😎
The property was extremely well maintained and clean! The best bathroom in Sri Lanka where we had been on a 14 day tour. this was our last hotel and we stayed and paid an extra night via booking.com. We were able to organise a late checkout for a very reasonable extra charge. The staff were excellent.
A very cosy hotel in the center of large Colombo, with walking distance to one of the lakes and some temples near by. The staff is very friendly and can help give tips and plan a route around the island. Breakfast was good, and fun to try some true Sri Lankan breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay.
The hotel has an incredible pool which is a lovely oasis in busy Colombo, and the hotel restaurant is actually very good - breakfast was a delicious buffet of both local Sri Lankan food and western options. Room was comfortable.
Thos was second stay at C1 Colombo Fort. Spacious, comfortable dorms. Immaculate common areas with a hotel vibe. Friendly, helpful staff. Well situated within walking distance to train station, and a range of restaurants.
There is no doubt and any questions. Perfect place to stay and has a very professional staff from the word go. All the facilities are standard level and one of the best hotels in Sri Lanka.
I was looking for a thrifty place to crash during my 2 nights stay in Colombo and it was a nice
Cozy and clean hotel and best value for the money I spent.
