We've been to many 5-star hotels all around the world, and surprisingly received the best hospotality service in this Hotel during our 2 night stay. It's a hidden gem !!! The view is epic from infinity pool. The food is Michelin level perfect. They light up dome fire while you dine outdoors (evenings might be little chill) there are 2 roms with fire place & ready to be fired up upon your request. They even put hot water bags into your bed during evening turn-down service, who expects such thing in the middle of Haputale :) Definetely will come back

Haputale is a small, sleepy Sri Lankan town - as opposed to a tourist town - in a beautiful hill country setting. It is much quieter and much cheaper to stay in than the tourist hot-spots of Nuwara Eliya or Ella, with a range of locally-run guesthouses, rooms and restaurants. The sleepy train station connects it with Colombo, Kandy and Ella, buses pass through and tuk-tuks can take you to nearby waterfalls or the iconic Lipton's Seat from which the stroll down through tea fields is stunning. There are several Olives restaurants in Haputale - Viewpoint was our favourite both for food and a stunning view. If you want a party then avoid Haputale as you'd be bored.

The trip to Lipton's seat takes about 5 hours round trip but is amazing...much better experience than the tour book suggested. An absolute delight was the opportunity to have tea and excellent snacks while in c the clouds at the peak...for an amazingly low price.
Views from our balcony were spectacular and the food - both dinner and breakfast - was top notch

Haputale is no substitute for Ella it's an extra stop.
Haputale is no substitute for Ella it's an extra stop. Haputale has fabulous views right in town and from your lodge, but there is a draught of travellers hang out cafés, while in Ella, you got to hike for the views, the town is packed with cafés and restaurants that makes you want to stay longer. Lodges in Haputale doesn't seem to put people together for shared transport to Horton plains anymore. Almost nobody is going there. I got a very good deal on transport there, but bailed in the gate and went back, due to extortionate entrance fees that added up to $49 for 1 person! - for a 3h hike!!!! - Lipton seat is well worth it though. Go early in the day before the clouds are covering it. The ride up takes you through beautiful tea plantations as well.

It's a lovely and unique area for trekking and hiking. The weather is wonderful, it's a place where the weather changes 6 times a day. Beautiful.
Bambarakanda Falls, Diyaluma Falls, Upper Diyaluma, Haputale Mountain, Lipton's Seat, and Horton Plains are nearby places. Adhisham's Bungalow is another unique experience to see the wildlife in night.

Easy access to famous Adisham bungalow and numerous walking trails. Good base for excursions to Horton Plains, Lipton's Seat, and impressive waterfalls. Haputale station is on scenic railway line through Hill Country. Best to stay in a guesthouse in the surrounding countryside rather than in town centre.
Excellent location very close to the bus station. It's on the edge of the hill and has very good views. The Guest house is run by a really sweet and friendly couple. Good English is spoken. Nice outdoor sitting area on both floors. I had the cheapest room which was clean and small but cozy and had a private bathroom. There is a variety of rooms, some even with private furnished balconies with an excellent view. There's a restaurant downstairs, and oh yeah, the lady can cook. Excellent food. Cold beers available too
The Capoe House is in a beautiful location. The rooms were extremely clean & comfortable. The service was exceptional and the staff couldn’t have done more to try and make our stay a memorable one. A good base to visit Haputale. Rather than visit Lipton’s tea factory which doesn’t get great reviews, we visited the Kelliebedde tea factory by tuktuk. No pre-booking required and 1000 rupees pp. Absolutely brilliant tour 🤩 over 100 years old.
Breakfast was amazing, loads of choice. Hashan helped us with lots of local walks, tours and information. We also had the curry and rice buffet in the evening which was delicious and there were lots of dishes to choose from, all hashans mothers recipes! We extended our stay by 2 nights as there was so much to do in the area and the hotel was well located and comfortable.
Very bad customer service with online booking. Actually we had a booked the three family room on that day and got confirmation email from you. When we came to Haputale Rest they told us. No more room available. We tried called you but nobody response the call.. really disappointed with our all family. We need to complain about this insident to your management.
Very quiet, clean, fantastic owners with good english, helpful. They pick from the train station. Very good homemade food. The owner has a tuktuk, and for very reasonable prices offers siteseeing, visiting tea factory, tea plantations and neighbourhood. If someone is looking for quiet, non touristic area, very romantic and green, best place to go.
The owner is so friendly and welcoming.
He will help you to plan things to see around Haputale for little money :)
He organised us cheap and tasty Sri Lankan dinner and the breakfast was really good as well!
The rooms have an amazing view and you only need to walk 5 min to get to the bus stop:)
I would definitely stay there again 💜
A great place to stay with a beautiful view. The best thing about the place has to be the people. A family run business with the nicest hosts you could ask for. Also a brilliant breakfast. The WIFI was down when we stayed here but they got us top ups for a data which was so kind of them. Definitely the place to stay in Haputale!
The view is sensational and Gamini, the manager is very kind and extremely helpful. He gave us ideas for walks and things to do and nothing was ever a bother.
The rooms are really nice and extremely great value.
Wish we could have stayed longer. This hotel and Haputale were a highlight.
We had the most awesome stay at White Home. The Hosts were such a lovely family and they made us feel so welcome. It is in a lovely place where you can see a beautiful view and Adisham is just 1km away. We had the best experience for a very low affordable rate.
leisure mount view holiday inn is the best place we have ever stayed. view is incredible. Super nice atmosphere with cool and friendly staff. breakfast is so good with lots of choices. thanks for the memorable stay. We will defiantly be back during this trip
Our hosts were really lovely. The food was so good that we ate at the hotel for three nights. You will not go hungry! The views from the balcony were incredible and I suspect some of the best in Haputale. They also had an exceptionally sweet dog.
One of the best experiences in Haputale was the view of this hotel. The host was attentive and made sure all our requests were met. I am confident that this is the best accommodation in Haputale considering the price. We stayed for 2 nights.
nice modern rooms, very reasonable priced and clean. recommended, if you dont mind to be a short stroll out of town. nice view and great breakfast! definitely recommend. book the room with the white furniture on the picture!nothing
First of all, hosts - very friendly and helpful brothers. They've arranged various kinds of transportation and answered all my questions about the surrounding area. The view from the hotel was amazing. The rooms are quite big.
We always try to find a small nice property instead of big international chains in every trip we do and after staying in many hotels of this kind we are 100% sure that Ayubowan was our best ever choice.
The scenery and views of the hotel room were fenomenal. The bathroom design is great, very unlike anything else we have ever seen but in the good sense. The restaurant staff had a lovely attitude
Really amazing place, a short drive away from Haputale. The family is wonderful and makes sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. The nature around it is just stunning.
Small family owned business with local hospitality. Great view of the Fox Trot hill and valleys of Haputale ; great view of distant hillsides and ranges.
