Truly exquisite hotel with excellent facilities and the most helpful and friendly staff. The rooms were in excellent condition with lovely views. The pool was heated and superbly maintained. All areas of the hotel were immaculate and pristine. Staff were incredibly helpful, for example, making separate dishes at the buffet to cater for allergies. They were always on standby to anticipate our needs, for example, asking if the children would like a ball to play with in the pool. The spa was calming and a great place to relax and unwind. The facilities were extensive and had something for everyone. This truly was a gem of a hotel.

The reservation was confirmed by bookings.com and when I called them, they also confirmed it and sent me the location too. ( proof available).
But on arrival, I was informed by the reception that the bookings were full and that my reservation could not be accepted.
Yes they said sorry for the mistake, but it took me many kilometres and my valuable time to go to the hotel and get it informed. Totally dissapointed.

The location was great. Very calm and quiet place, but located on the roadside. Easily accessible using public transport.
The bed was comfy.
The caretaker was very attentive. Provided hot water to drink. Prepared and served tea whenever I asked. Though they don't serve meals, he bought dinner for me from a nearby place.

We were told to treat the magnificent bungalow as our own home as we arrived and had a drink in the wonderful colonial drawing room. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely amazing, the afternoon tea was the best I have had in my life.
We loved the walk around the tea plantations and swimming in the infinity pool

There is nothing to do in Hatton, the city itself is not very interesting. However you can take the scenic train route from Kandy to Hatton and then join the tea plantation tours and hikes and afternoon teas.
Many leeches so beware.
Way colder in temperatue than Minneriya, Dambula, Kandy etc.

Hatton is a scenic and beautiful town in the mountains.
Hatton is a scenic and beautiful town in the mountains. Gorgeous sceneries anywhere you look. The town has plenty of shops and banks. Pretty convenient to get everything you need. The hotels are run a bit differently to Colombo and Kandy. Not sure how to explain, but things are bit slower. It is great to hike there and search for waterfalls and the nature and beauty is unending. Lovely local people, friendly and kind. The temperature is seriously pleasant without the humidity. Even the tea plants love it.

lovely area - i would have liked to stay longer and do Adam's Peak . I enjoyed walking through the tea plantations and seeing the factory - and there were other hikes to do that we didn't have the time to do. Also, it is not too far from Kitulgala which is also a great place to go. we rafted there and loved it - and there is also a lovely rain forest there that we did not have the time to explore.

The Hatton area is the centre of Sri Lanka's tea industry and has a cool moderate climate. The area around Hatton and especially Castlereigh Lake is spectacular, with beautiful tea plantations waterfalls and stunning vistas. It is at an elevation of 3,000 meters so pack warm clothes as well as t-shirts as the weather is changeable. As a result of decades of British colonialism the region is dotted with fantastic Bungalows and the locals will speak English. If you can, try and arrive via train (use the second class tickets, first class is aircon and too cold with non-opening windows) from either Kandy or Nanu-Oya (Nuwara Eliya) its one of the most scenic train journeys in the world.

Hatton is the gateway to Sri Paada pilgrimage for the travellers from Colombo or specially the tourists. The town is small, packed but friendly and could have been lot more planned, cleaned and visitor friendly.
The house is large, plenty of space to feel at home. Comfortable bed, large towels, hot water - I even had a bath!
It is on the edge of Hatton looking out over a tea plantation. We had the most wonderful day out with Latchman as our guide to take us to Adam’s Peak and a swim in Gartmore Falls, followed by a BBQ dinner and beer (he kindly stopped so we could pick some up).
Food lovely and the team go above and beyond to make sure you are looked after. Thanks also to Kirosha and the 2 gentleman. We are very happy with our stay.

the Argyle hotel and its staff perform this day in, day out (with a big acknowledgement herein towards Jana, Siva, the GM and the guy behind the bar (apologies for forgetting the name).
We had 6 days to stay at this insanely clean and personal hotel, which included great walking tours and delicious buffets.
Highly recommended!
Insanely superb views by the lake and mountains. Loved the Kayaking, the food and the hospitality esp Justin who was super friendly and of service. Great to meet the Manager heading the resort, very humble and cordial. Rooms were also very classy with some great views of the reservoir on one side and the tea gardens on the other side. They also had the option to cycle around the resort.
First of all, the View is fabulous. Besides, are staff kindness and helpfulness, Qibla pointer, calmness, pool and jacuzzi, restaurant (especially paratha bread and masala tea, In addition to main and side dishes), spa facilities, room service, security, cleanness. In my opinion, this resort is one of the best places to reach for relaxation.
Thanks to all.

The room was amazing, the breakfast and the food in the restaurant really good and many many options. All the staff were super friendly and helpful, especially the manager Yaso, super cool guy, helped us a lot with information and sort out cheap transport for us
This hotel has amazing potential. The setting is just incredible. The rooms have amazing views overlooking the beautiful lakes and the location is really good. It was just missing a few things that made it not an amazing stay.
This hotel view is amazing, we can see Sri Padaya Direct from the top of the hotel lobby and also some mountain ranges. So especially by hotel staff members helped us to find near attraction points, which is great 😃👍
Wonderfully restored colonial house within easy walking distance of Hatton Station. Surprisingly tranquil considering the central location. Very welcoming host and authentic Sri Lankan menu for dinner and breakfast.
A very pleasant stay. I arrived at the hotel at midnight on the first day, with staff waiting for me at reception. The room was clean, the water was warm. Breakfast was tasty and included in the price of the stay.
