Great to enjoy the sea and the beach which was nice and calm but also had waves further away for the surfers. The cocktail bars on the beach really add a lot to this location as opposed to many other beaches in Sri Lanka. Some of the restaurant's had some super dishes which were a real fusion of east and west.
Also a few more places to explore and enjoy are Dickwella beach, Blue beach, Hummanaya blowhole and the dondra area.

It’s emerging and as such choice is large and prices reasonable. There’s plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Bars are varied from top end cocktail bars to beach shacks. Standards are high. Beaches are perfect.

Hiriketiya is a beautiful spot on the south coast of Sri Lanka. I would recommend checking out the beach in Dickwella if you're looking to escape the surf schools that dominate Hiri beach. Really enjoyed the different restaurants and bars in the area. Fantastic seafood and delicious breakfast options. Be sure to try the small local places as well as the more established places like Dots Bar etc

Surfing looked good and the vibe is very relaxing. Some nice places to eat and drink and nice to walk around. Feels like a place that is becoming increasingly popular with surfers and remote workers.

Its a beautiful place with relaxed vibes compared to other touristic town in the down south coastal areas of Sri Lanka.
Plenty more attractions to see apart from Surfing, within the nearby towns. Hiriketiya surfing Bay is ideal for surfers at all levels. Overall, a beautiful bay for surfing, swimming or just relaxing and sunbathing etc.

Great little village with a wonderful bay with waves for both intermediate and beginner surfers. Water is also suitable for swimming and young children.
Loads of cool restaurants and beach bars dotted along the beach with free sunbeds for customers. There are also surfboard hire places too.
The village contains a mixture of guesthouses, hostels, hotels and villas so there is a choice for everyone. Lots of restaurants, shopping and bars located in the village that range from local to western style food.
Great village to unwind and relax during your travels in Sri Lanka
