The view over the mountains is fabulous. The vegetation, birds, mountain monks chanting some where far, made it a real spiritual return to nature. The journey there through jungle and tea plantations made it a safari adventure. We were alone apart from the lovely staff, which made it a special escape under the starry sky and fire flies dancing in the night.

The location, the staff and accommodation was exceptional and they did above and beyond to make our stay remarkable. The location was spacious and rooms were super clean. It is a paradise for nature lovers situated with easy access to Badulu river and surrounded by a forest. Even though we went there during a rough summer with high temperatures even outside the rooms the temperature was comparatively much better than other places. The breakfast provided was also great and had Sri Lankan and English breakfast options and tasted good.

Viraj was super accommodating with us and made us feel at home straight away. Not only we were arriving quite late but we also had to leave early in the morning and he managed to provide us dinner and breakfast(this last one on the go!), and both were home made and of an outstanding quality! Ella all in all has low standards of hotels. This one also need some renovation. But the manager try to do the best job and he is kind. I saw that people who works there do their best with garden etc. Swimming pool is small but perfect to chill. Really good location- walking distance to Nine Arches Bridge and Main Street with restaurants.
