The food at the buffet was so good! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds were extremely comfortable & you can literally spend the whole day here without leaving. It has everything you need from a pool to bikes to quad bikes and massages. Live piano and music. Great bar and beautiful gardens

Fantastic staff , warm welcome and gave us lots of advice . They helped plan all our activities ( the safari we went on was excellent with a fantastic guide ) .and our transfers . Lovely pool with towels supplied which was a great bonus after being out in the heat . Our favourite hotel during our stay , would definitely recommend staying here .

The hotel was in a great location if you're looking to go to Lion's Rock (it's a short walk which we did first thing in the morning to make it up for sunrise), also with great views out of your bedroom window. But the best thing about our stay was the staff, everyone was really friendly and attentive. In particular, Sanath went above and beyond to support us, always with kindness and a smile on his face.

Food served quickly… but we were the only guests. Supplied 2 bottles of water on 1st day but not on the 2nd day. Ceiling fan is quite Our room had a nice outlook over the pool area and garden Water pressure & temp are ok The rooms are large and spacious Nice enclosed terrace in front of the rooms with table and chairs Great quiet location. Only a short drive into the village for a meal or drinks and only 10 min drive to Lion Rock.

The first day we were provided with a room in the old building. The room had some of the facilities not working and seems to be under maintained. On complaining, the second day we were provided a room in the new building which was much better. The ambiance was good and not far from the restaurant. The breakfast was good. Celebrating Lankan New Year with the guest on the 13th morning and presentation of songs during dinner time by the local artistes were some of the praiseworthy points. Officer in the front office Mr. Samalka was found to be very accommodative.

Our stay at Hotel ECHO was rather average. While there were a couple of things we liked, such as the hotel's location just a 3-minute walk from the Sigiriya rock entrance and the delicious dinner we had at the restaurant, the overall experience left much to be desired. The hotel itself is quite old and dirty, which was disappointing. While the room was of a good size, the bathroom was not up to standard and was also dirty. We had booked a twin room for myself and a friend, but upon arrival, we were given a king-size bed instead. This mix-up was further complicated by the fact that the person who checked us in did not speak English, making communication difficult and frustrating. Overall, while there were a couple of positives, our experience at Hotel ECHO was not great, and we won't be staying there again.

The host was so helpful about activities and best places to go! Recommended the BEST massage experience place in Sri Lanka so best you ask about it(20min drive from the stay but worth it!) The bedroom was spacious,clean and super comfortable with a kettle and fridge which is a great win on a trip! The AC worked like a dream. Breakfast included was big and set us up for the day! The location is fantastic as you could literally walk 50m and you were at all the restaurants in the little town!

    The hotel is located on a place which has a great view, the staff is very friendly and supplied everything we need. There was a bathtub, sugar, coffee packets, and also there was a minibar for every room. The breakfast was excellent.

    So much to do and see! 3 nights is plenty, but easy to fill it! Climb the rock, absolutely do a village tour; go for a herbal massage (but prepare for a different kind of massage to normal!); and go on safari! We had a driver which made getting around super easy, but there are countless tuktuks you can rent.

    Excellent natural landmark with lush forest surroundings. But climb up is overhyped. Only the view from top is extraordinary. On the contrary climb up the adjacent Pidurangala Rock has more rewarding view of the main Rockmass in the afternoon/sunset

    It was a very expensive entry fee to the rock, USD32 per person. The guides around the base are very persistent and can become a nuisance. We had a good tuk tuk ride round the base, which was lovely and booked privately, oh and it's perfectly ok to haggle on the price. Plenty of local cafes and juice bars. Fab place was The Green Hut Hotel, just 10 mins walk from Lion Rock, lovely rooms, great English speaking host and super food. Local temple worth a 15 minute look see. Tuk tuks everywhere and good value. Safari to Minneriya was great, saw loads of elephants.

    Three nights, i.e. two days are perfect: half a day for each - elephant-safari in Minneriya National Park - Dambulla cave temples - Sigiriya rock - Polonnaruwa, the ancient capital But you need a taxi or tuktuk to get around.

    We spend one night here.

    We spend one night here. Depending on what you want to do it was plenty of time. We arrived in the early afternoon checked into our accommodation and went to Dambulla Cave Temple. The following morning we got up before sunrise to climb Lion Rock, which despite what people say, is worth it. The fee was acceptable for us since it is a UNESCO site. After the hike we had breakfast and made our way further south.

    What a wonderful location!

    What a wonderful location! The pool was a true blessing after our exhausting flight, and the environment is quite soothing. Asanka's meal was incredibly delicious. The personnel was really helpful!

    The rooms were clean and beautifully laid out. in the morning breakfast buffet was great with a mix of Sri Lankan and continental dishes. But it was the large black-tile swimming pool under the banyan tree that made such a great stay for me - it was absolutely the best To arrive at the hotel after hiking the golden temple rock caves and take a plunge. Did the same the next morning after hiking Sigiryia, which the hotel also arranged for me with their resident tuk-tuk driver. They also have a full bar and room service.

    Everything is amazing. The rooms have the best views overlooking Sigiriya and Pidurangala and they are extremely comfortable and clean. The restaurant offers amazing Sri Lankan food. It is a must try. The curries come with lots of trimmings giving you an opportunity to really understand what the cuisine is all about. Exceptional indeed. We will definitely be back to Roo Mansala next time we visit. I doubt any other property will be able to provide the same level of service and comfort.

    Set in a beautiful lush garden and run by the loveliest couple, we had a wonderful experience. Great value for money. Easy to walk to Sigiriya and Pidurangala rocks. Probably one of the best included breakfasts we had in Sri Lanka. The fridge in the room was super useful and we liked that it was stocked with very reasonably priced refreshing beverages. The hosts were very helpful & gave us good advice. We wished we had time to stay more than one night!

    I can only say positive things about the Lion Lodge. The owners make you feel like at home and are very kind and available to help you planning your trip. They showed me how to get to different places by bus and where the bus stop was. I also requested the breakfast and it was delicious! The hotel is very close to Sigiriya Rock, about 15 minutes walk. The rooms are nice and quiet. I had a lovely stay, thank you very much!!!

    The place was extremely good value for money and it is an incredible good bargain - I could not believe it did not yet have 5 stars! The forest sounds made you feel one with nature; while maintaining the standards of a luxury room. The food was also first class.     The location is perfect, 30 min walking to Sigiriya and near the road to take the bus to Dambulla. The owner's family is amazing, we felt like home. The breakfast is delicious and we had lunch and dinner there too. Everything was tasty and she could cook vegetarian dishes for me. Thank you very much! The room was big and we had a terrace to chill. Green Bamboo is the best place I've been in Sri Lanka.

    Wonderful family run hotel set in a beautiful large garden full of wildlife! The room was large, clean and an extremely comfy large bed. Breakfast is large and delicious & be sure to eat in the hotel for at least one night you will not regret it, best curry in Sigiriya! For money, there is no better in Sigiriya!     It’s a lovely property in the jungle, very cute cabins and a great value! The hotel staff is very friendly and welcoming, 100% recommend staying here! Location is also great for Sigiriya and Pidurangala, highly recommend hiking Pidurangala at sunrise, even though it was a bit cloudy when we went, it was still a gorgeous view. We also got to see monkeys!

    A Grade hotel in the sigiriya. We enjoyed happy weekend in the hotel. My family members had successfull happy stayed the villa. The hotel manager contacted the tuk tuk driver for the village tour. The tour price is low than out side tuk tuk drivers. Tasty foods. Breckfast is better. Staff veryvery frendly.

    The location of the hotel offers very good access to Sigiriya Rock. The rooms are nice. Staff is helpful to every need. Breakfast offers a variety of options. Considering all is a very good option for staying in the area.
