I had a fantastic stay at the View at Glenloch, my favourite in Sri Lanka. The location is perfect if you are hiking on the Pekoe Trail (just off the end of stage 3). Prosper was an excellent host with great stories and advice. He offered a good cup of tea whenever I wanted one and made me breakfast in the morning. For dinner, he arranged for food to be brought to the house from a local restaurant, excellent fried rice! The room and bathroom was clean and comfortable. Overall, I couldn't be more happy with my stay. I hope I can return some day.

The best hotel I have ever stayed at. The magical setting, the incredible property, the room size and design, the food, and of course the staff, all come together to make this quite literally a one of a kind stay. Do yourself a favour, book this hotel asap...you will not regret it at all.

The staff and their hospitality, Ajith and Pubudu have been exceptionally supportive. The view from the room is breathtaking, a waterfall can be seen from the room and also the Kotmale reservoir from far. A great morning experience as you wake up and walk to the balcony, misty mountains are stunning. Nice comfy beds as well.

Breakfast (& Dinner) was excellent; Chef Periyakka did a great job by providing the food we requested. Best location close to Nuwara Eliya, Kothmale Dam and other attractions near-by for anyone to take a value for money rest. We were taken on a special tour of the Tea Factory by superb guide, Ms. Shiva. All staff, specifically Lal, Aafir, Yamuna, together with the Chef and Guide, were excellent!

We were upgraded to a small apartment for the same price. Quiet. A short walk into town and closer to tea plantations. Owner was very friendly and wanting to attract more foreign tourists to Pussallawa.

This place is in a beautiful location. It is approx midway between Nuwara Eliya and Kandy, but that is part of it's charm. The host, Akila is the very best host you could ever ask for. He really is exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble, very very accommodating, knowledgeable, polite, kind, calm and gentle. He really made this stay. In hindsight, we wish we stayed with Akila for longer! The food was incredible, you could (if you wanted to) have had breakfast in the pool on a floating tray!

If you like different, exciting places off the beaten track then this is the place for you. Amazing scenery, wildlife and rural communities surrounding an old cardamom plantation and gardens set into the cloud forest on the highest peak in Sri Lanka. It's a long, winding drive along a rough ancient track in a 4-wheel drive to get there. Wonderful nature, tranquility and panoramic views await. The price you pay isn't for luxury, and the accommodation is a bit worn around the edges, and the interesting hydro-electric power system is a bit on and off. Rather, the price you pay reflects the challenges of running such a place in a remote location, unique overall experience and the wonderful care and hospitality of the team that run it. The breakfast and dinners provided were great - no need for lunch! Note that even though the map shows this place to be close to Nuwara Eliya it is 2-3 hours trip to get there - requiring some planning to get to the pick-up point by car for transfer to 4-wheel drive up steep and bumpy track (1 hour). Also be aware of the weather as it can be cloudy, wet and foggy out of season - I understand March / April and November / December are the best times to go. We went in early February and got one day rain and cloud, 1 day full sun. This was the most memorable and exciting part of out 2 week trip to Sri Lanka.

Prosper, our host, is a very special person and really made this home stay very special.
The view was spectacular and the tea factory tour was well worth a visit. It is an old plantation which still uses traditional methods. We had a free tour which included tea tasting and picking the leaves.
You need to go out to eat so we went to Tea Bush Hotel which was about 2km away. We took Prosper too 😀
