I have only good thoughts when I am thinking about this place. When I arrived I got greeted by Prubad and his wife with a big smile. Even when it was already passed lunchtime they asked me if I wanted lunch after my long trip. The pictures on the site do not really justice. It is a lot nicer. The place is new, the bathroom is super. There is a shower for cold and hot water. Prubad and his wife will do anything to make you feel at home. The first night I just been sitting on the terrace watching the thunderstorm and the fireflies flying around...it was wonderful. They have a small menu where you can choose from for breakfast, lunch and diner because you are in the jungle and there is not much around. You do not need to look for a tourguide, you can do it with them. You have different choices for tours and Prubad knows a lot about nature. I can write here a whole story how good it was but will not do that. Do not hesitate if you want to stay in the rainforest. You will not regret it

When I had to cross the shallow river to reach the Sanctuary, I knew that this stay will be very special... I've never slept better in my life... Wrapped in the sounds of the jungle, the river and the rain. Watching the birds flying and monkeys jumping. Bathing in the river. Drinking spring water. Feeling the deep cleanse, detox, and relaxation, and the effects of an authentic ayurvedic treatment on my nervous system. Nourishing foods made with love. Walking barefoot through the developing gardens... With houses blending into the landscape, created from natural materials...
This place is a sanctuary through and through and no photo could do it justice! It was so calming for my body, mind, and soul! Here, in the comfy climate of the tropical mountains of Sri Lanka, I once more accepted how much I crave to live in a natural environment.
When I left, I felt how much it was a pity that I stayed only for 2 nights.
And I feel the need to come back in the future for a much longer stay.
If anyone who reads this seeks to retreat from all the noise out there: This is the place.
Thank you Karina and Cedric for having made this experience possible.

The breakfast was excellent and the location was superb. I can't praise this hilltop bungalow set in beautiful rainforest too highly. If you like observing nature, there there are forest walks guided by the host, who showed us some amazing creatures, such as the bluefaced leaf monkey and the kangaroo lizard. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I saw the one bird I went to Sri Lanka for, right there in the garden, the paradise flycatcher. The family who own the place are such nice people.
