Of the 9 places I have stayed in Sri Lanka, this had the best facilities. Smart bedding and towels, working TV, bar fridge and wifi; good hot water supply. Pleasant outlook from balcony, including toque macaque monkeys playing on wires not far away. Close to main street but only train noise noticed. Owner keen to assist. Comfortable lounge chairs and small dining table. Very clean modern bathroom. Only a 350 rupee ride to the fabulous Myula Restaurant/Bar with its sensational views and great food. Exemplary.

The location was amazing, to be able to watch the elephants from the balcony. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Fresh omelette and pancakes for breakfast was lovely. Using WhatsApp as a way of communication worked well and Andrew was very helpful arranging local trips. We didn't want to go far as we'd miss the elephants!
