Sahara Majestic Luxury Camp, hotel in Hassilabied

Sahara Majestic Luxury Camp features a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, garden, a terrace and restaurant in Merzouga.

First thing, we enjoyed our stay and this camp but there are also things we were a bit underwhelmed about. The location of this camp is awesome. We researched loads to make sure we were right by the dunes. Secondly the evening meals were so good. I'm not usually a meat eater at all but i ate meat in Morocco and this camp served us the best meat all week. The host was great, really funny and welcoming and made time to chat and have a joke with everyone. What i would like to say though is that it is very expensive. It cost us £250 for two nights and £170 additional for quad biking for two hours. The quad biking was brilliant, it was over dunes and pushed me anyway- it wasnt for wimps. Im not sure id pay £250 to stay at a camp again through. Im very curious what the difference is between a £50 a night camp and a £125 a night camp. It had a pool which was another plus but not sure that justifies the price either really especially of you're only doing a one night camp. Pool was cold which is no biggy but im not sure how often flies are fished out. The fire and music was ok, a bit erm improvised and we werent that bothered about watching it the second night. Last thing, i think the bin in the toilet should be emptied every day as its full of stinky toilet paper and if it was emptied i think it would just help to justify to the price a little bit. The room overall was clean, obviously you'll have some sand about no matter how hard you try to eliminate it. Other people have written sparking reviews of the camp so this is just my view. I work really really hard for my wages and I don't give it away unless its really worth it. Glamping in the UK at this price mark is exceptional- Clean and very high quality of service. Some small changes and this camp could have 2000 great reviews not just 200. We werent sure what to expect of a desert camp. I didn't overly expect to be honest.

The owner greeted us personally and made us feel very welcome. He did not push for us to go on extra excursions nor did he request us to focus on checking in immediately. He made it clear we were to focus on getting comfortable after our long journey. He spent time getting to know us and set a beautiful candlelit dinner up for us by the pool. The next day he drove us to the nearest village where we could buy lunch, and supplies for our stay in a desert camp the next day. He also drove us to our meeting point after check out. All of this at no extra charge. He also provided us with his contact details in case we hit any snags during our stay in the area. Our room was perfect with plenty of space. We were also given a tour of the hotel and I can attest that the other rooms were also stunning.
