Guesthouse Eko Piva, hotel in Pluzine

Set in Pluzine and only 42 km from Viewpoint Tara Canyon, Guesthouse Eko Piva offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. The property has lake views.

It is ideally located for exploration of the Canyon, Whitewater rafting and even parts of the Durmitor National Park. Room was spacious, but simple. I was there out of season and there wasn't much happening in town, but in the Summer I can imagine it would be much more buzzy. Breakfast options were quite simple, but there were adequate choices. Bar facilities are available. On site parking is available.

Apartment Osmajic, hotel in Pluzine

Featuring lake views, Apartment Osmajic offers accommodation with a garden, around 43 km from Viewpoint Tara Canyon. This beachfront property offers access to a balcony and free WiFi.

Lovely spacious, clean apartment. Host really friendly. Comfy beds. 2 singles for the kids. Everything you need in the kitchen & a washing machine including washing powders, so a real bonus. Mums pastries were a delight & a lovely personal touch which went down well with all the family. Really handy, the host introduced himself via Whatsapp a couple of days before, which was perfect to let him know our arrival had been delayed. A new road has been built, so don't follow Google Maps for the last stretch. It tries to take you down a track. Instead, drive past the track to the end of the road & turn right & you'll arrive at the front of the property.

Kamp Vrbnica, hotel in Pluzine

Featuring inner courtyard views, Kamp Vrbnica in Pluzine features accommodation, a garden, a bar and barbecue facilities. This beachfront property offers access to free WiFi and free private parking.

I liked everything about the place. The size is not too big so too many people are there to ruin the experience, but not too little so it would be cramped. The river is an amazing bonus. We wanted to rent kayaks but we didn't find any places on the web, so we asked the staff (sorry but I'm very bad with names :C). He was super helpful, told us everything we needed to know, and with good English which was rare to hear there (no offense). Room was clean, refrigerator big bonus. Thanks again!

definitely our two days were not enough, at least four are necessary. Everything is near but it takes a long time to get anywhere via narrow and curvy roads, with many view points where you simply must stop. There are two rivers, Piva and Tara, and nice mountains Durmitor for hiking

Pluzine is not so popular spot for the tourist so far.

Pluzine is not so popular spot for the tourist so far. So it is not crowded by tourist. But for the nature lover it is a perfect place to be at Pluzine. Nature at it's best here. Amazing view of Piva lake which is surrounded by the high mountain makes Pluzine very scenic. It is worth a boat ride in the lake. The road conditions to reach Pluzine is very good. There are few good restaurants.

The town itself is absolutely nothing special, not much to see, though they are building some new road and something that probably will become a place for a walk. Everything here is about the lake and activities related. We went there for a SUP tour, and it was perfect. There are also few good restaurants in the town, all serving fresh fish from the lake and local meat.

The lake is beautiful, but for swimming your only options...

The lake is beautiful, but for swimming your only options are the gravel beach in the town (mostly warm, stagnant water, and full of local kids) or taking a kayak or boat tour out onto the lake. By kayak or boat you can reach a swimming platform where you can swim among fish out in the lake. Boat trips, however, are overpriced at 30 euros for 1 hour and 50 euros for 2 hours. The 2-hour trip takes you to a cave where you can hear hundreds of bats chirping above you. Unfortunately the boat captains don't speak English, so it's hard to get information about what you're seeing on the tour. You don't get more than about 30 mins for swimming. Perhaps it would be possible with the help of the tourist info center to arrange for a boat to drop you at the swimming platform and come back for you in a few hours, and if I went back that's what I would do. As for other activities in the area, hiking and cycling seem to be the main ones. There are a couple of daily buses to the monastery nearby, but I didn't know this until I saw a sign for them on my way out of town. Bus travel to and from Pluzine is relatively easy. Thru buses stop right at the entrance to the town, across from the tourist info center. Buses originating in Pluzine start from the green shelter adjacent to the tourist info center. Bus times are unreliable but I've found the ones listed on Balkanviator as purchaseable online to be accurate. Overall, unless you're planning to use Pluzine as a base for exploring the area or cycling/hiking, it doesn't really merit an entire day. A quick boat tour, maybe a visit to the monastery a few km away, and you can be on your way to your next destination.

Little village with nothing going on.

Little village with nothing going on. If the weather is not nice then there is nothing to do. The lake is lovely but the whole village is under development. I would like to visit in 5 years and see the end result!
