Fort de France was a very nice place to visit in Martinique.
Fort de France was a very nice place to visit in Martinique. We stayed at a nice hotel the first 2 days we were there. Unfortunately, I reserved a hotel room at Maison Clementine where the owner overcharged me by 100 euros!!! Keep away from that place.

We went to St. Anne and to St.
We went to St. Anne and to St. Pierre on tours and enjoyed both. The fish market was small, and the other markets were very much like other tourist markets. We walked during the day and it was easy to get around.

Like any other cities in the world, Fort de France is crowded with cars, people, shops, restaurants. It's relatively clean I must say. Perfect for solo or couple travellers. Not if you have kids to stay in this area.

Very good public transport system.
Very good public transport system. With the addition of the new TCSP service, getting to many places of interest is quick and easy. There is a big choice of restaurants within walking distance, making eating out very easy.

We had been working long and hard for the past year and needed a quiet, no-hassle, short and quick break. Martinique was easy for us to get to. It was off-season and that was fine with us as we really didn't want to do very much. The city is clean, quiet, friendly, pretty, green, cultured and not expensive. The tourist centre was helpful. We tried to find some local art and craft, hand made things but there didn't seem to even be an art gallery. The Saturday market was interesting. We could not charge up our phones because of the power difference and we couldn't find an adapter to buy. We walked everywhere. Street food in the Savanne was just fine.
Our stay was a homestay with the owner and his 15 year old daughter. They were both such a joy to meet and talk with. For a fee, he picked us up at the airport and also dropped us off at the cruise terminal. He provided the food for breakfast which we could prepare on our own time schedule. From the apartment, we walked to the historical center with no problem - even walking back uphill was not an issue. His property has an excellent view and the relaxing atmosphere was an awesome treat. We would definately recommend this place.
The location in Fort-De-France is excellent. Near the harbour for the ferry, the beach for swimming, and the shopping, restaurant area. All a 5-15 minute walk. The flat has a well appointed kitchen with a washing machine and reliable air conditioning using heat pump technology. The bed was comfortably firm. Frédérique, the owner and manager, was available on WhatsApp for any questions that I had. A lady with class, she was very attentive to me during my stay. Merci.
Well Fabrice is a indeed a professional host. He offered me to pick me up at the ferry dock and bring me to the airport next day for a really reasonable price, but more important I didn't had to spend time to search for a taxi or a shuttle service. The room was clean and nice. Fabrice offered me also dinner for a small fee which was perfect (BBQ). The communication was excellent, minutes after I made the reservation, Fabrice called to welcome me.
The house is extremely clean and the room has everything (balcony, fridge, stove, tv w/ cable, etc) The house is conveniently located near supermarkets, boulangeries, ferries, the beach, restaurants, etc. The host is a sweetheart and there is no way that I'm going back to Martinique and not go back to her house. Merci beaucoup pour ton accueil M.
Very quiet, pleasant appartment in a residential area just outside of Fort-de-France. Excellent price. Clean. Good off-street parking. Conveniently located when you have a car. Central on the island, good for exploring. Great and stable WiFi. Good A/C in bedroom. Strong hot water supply in shower. Great communication with host. Would book again.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms comfortable & clean. Zest Restaurant on property - a bonus for the hotel serving delicious food & good evening vibz. Carrefour Express - 6 min walk away. 15 mins drive to airport.
Reason for staying here: Was stranded in FDF for 2 nights due to pilot body strike of the airline. Suited by requirements.
Nice spacy room with kitchen. The location is very central but quiet, with the windows looking towards the fort and sea. Everything is within walking distance to this hotel and we received some good guidance from the reception about the places we could go. La Française Beach is within walking distance and was a pleasant start for our trip.
What is the most great thing about this hotel? It is near a BUSSTOP line A & B towards centrum and airport.
The rooms were good and the swimmingpool awsome (not big, but big enough) go a level higher and you got a small sauna and whirlpool plus sundeck. Breakfast is good. People are very friendly
Very helpful reception staff who spoke English. A very nice outdoor pool. A short walk to a super-market and shops such as a pharmacy and bakery. Plus two very good restaurants. It was a short drive up to the main highway, which took you into Fort-de-France.
Location! Walking distance from the Ferry pulling luggage, restaurants at your doorstep, bus service a few blocks away, 5 Euros for 2 persons to bus to airport where many car rental companies are available (book in advance for a rental car).
Perfect little gem! Phenomenal location in Fort-de-France! Excellent service and communication from the owner. We walked in exhausted from a long flight and were blown away by this place. We will recommend and stay again!
The hotel is very easy to access from the airport.
Staff was really nice and available
The restaurant view is breathtakingly beautiful, even more at sunrise. The bed was really nice
The hotel was located very close to downtown. The staff were really friendly and the food was amazing. Overall we had a great time and will be going back
