Breakfast: Good selection of everything, wide serving time.
Location: Very close to bus stops and the Sliema <> Valletta ferry.
Rooms: Overall nice room size and decor. Very clean. Bathrooms have a powerful shower.
Reception / Staff: Quickly checked in / out. Partial resolved an issue with freebies (although these are overvalued by the hotel - they charge €20 for an airport transfer, but it’s only €9 on Bolt so do not get caught out).
Bayview Hotel & Apartments offers a 24-hour internet café, and a rooftop swimming pool overlooking the harbour at Sliema. Some accommodation comes with a balcony, and some feature sea views.
Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in St Julian's, The Westin Dragonara Resort, Malta offers 2 private beaches, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, one of which is heated, and 3 restaurants.

The place is definitely not touristy, which is great if you want to experience a real local vibe. On the other hand it means that there's not much to do - sights are very limited, as well as dining options. It's a good base to explore Malta if you have wheels. Getting to Gozo was less practical - you'll spend 1,5 hrs each way (including ferry).

Siggiewi is a small relatively quiet town away from Valleta and the urbanisation that has spread throughout the north eastern side of Malta. If you want access to these areas know you are rarely more than 30mins away from almost anywhere on the island. You'll also be guaranteed sunshine and temperatures you can cope with in September.
Good food is everywhere the only sad thing personally is the lack of wildlife. The extinction that climate activists talk about seems to have already happened on this island. What a shame.

It's an authentic village/small town location with a series of good local restaurants and a great local wine bar. Regular buses provide access to all the main Island towns and sites or it provides a good jumping off point if you have your own transport. Dominated by a huge old church and classic town square with local shops and facilities. Worth a wander through the narrow streets of the old town after dark and a glass or two of local wine in the Levels Wine Bar.
