Mariosa and family (who run the Cloisters) were incredibly welcoming and friendly, they pointed us to the best secluded (local) beaches, helped us with bus and taxi times and were wondefully hospitable. In short, they made our stay in Gozo an absolute pleasure!

Where do I begin! As soon as we arrived we were greeted by Antonio who was waiting for us in front of the guest house. The guesthouse is so beautiful and smelled amazing. It is decorated with rustic traditional Maltese furniture and pieces. The kitchen/dining area is lovely and there's a pool as well. When we entered our bedroom once again we could smell the cleanliness in the room and it was spotlessly clean. The bed was super comfy and we slept well. In the morning Antonio greeted us with home made breakfast which was abundant and delicious. We especially loved his scrambled egg and avocado on toast. We had a long conversation in Italian and really enjoyed his company. Bernadette came during breakfast and we could see how dedicated she is towards the guesthouse. She furnished the guest house herself and takes care of the cleaning personally. She is a lovely person and is very hardworking. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again. Thank you for hosting us Antonio and Bernadette :)

Very welcoming & helpful host. Very clean, great homemade breakfast, peaceful & quiet place to stay.
Xaghra is one of the largest towns in Gozo. Ggantija temples is maybe the best attraction, but the piazza is also excellent place to visit for relaxing evenings. Gozo is small, but ideally you have a car. Xaghra also makes an excellent basepoint for Gozo.

73 In the Square does a mean Aperol Spritz which is lovely in the evening. Coronation Bar just next door has a wide variety of decent food and the local by the glass Maltese wine was pretty good too!
Whilst there are bus services on Gozo for getting around they are not frequent (hourly or every 1.5 hrs) but luckily for me my accommodation was on the Victoria side of Xaghra so I had no issues walking to/from Victoria to the bus terminal. Mind you it's not a route I would in the evening when it's dark as there are minimal footpaths and a very twisty road.
The windmill is interesting enough as are the temples but to be honest I mainly used Xaghra as a dinner and sleeping spot and then tried to visit other parts of the island during the day.
For any pizza fans or anyone who want to try a Maltese Ftira then I strongly recommend Tal-Latini!

Lovely village!
Lovely village! When I go to Gozo, I always lean towards booking an accommodation in Xaghra as it is quite central and pretty much close to everywhere.
However, do note that there is an extremely steep road with multiple bends to get to the village. If you are planning to travel around Gozo by foot make sure to consider this and if you are renting a car, make sure you are experienced in driving enough.

Xaghra was a larger village than I’d expected.
Xaghra was a larger village than I’d expected. Plenty of cafes, shops, restaurants, and various attractions.
I’m fascinated by ancient sites. So Ggantija temple was my main reason for staying nearby, and this didn’t disappoint, with really useful Visitor Centre, helpful guides & loads of information.
Also near to a brilliant beach, Ramla Bay, and plenty of buses - e.g. hourly to Victoria, from where you can get around the whole island.

We have stayed in Xaghra every time we visit Gozo.
We have stayed in Xaghra every time we visit Gozo.
The place is very calm and relaxing, the church is beautiful.
There is very good choice of bars and restaurants for everyone's taste.
The local people are very friendly.
It is central for traveling around the island, 15-20 minutes to everywhere.
Very nice, cordial and helpful hosts. Breakfasts and dinners were delicious. Cleanliness at a very high level. The apartment is different from hotel rooms and has its own unique atmosphere. Behind the inconspicuous wall separating the street from the property there is a charming garden. A quiet and peaceful place, conducive to peace and relaxation. I think that when you stay with Eleonora you can feel the authentic atmosphere of Gozo. We sincerely recommend it. We intend to come back, especially since there is a beautiful, sandy beach nearby.
Everything! The room was big and beautiful and has a very spacious bathroom. It’s modern, chic, super clean and the whole hotel has a very welcoming ambience. The breakfast is the highlight for us. My wife is lactose intolerant and they provided her with lactose-free options and the breakfast area is big. Location is also good and the bus stop to Victoria is just right around the corner. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and tried their best to accommodate our requests since we were in a tight schedule. We are very grateful!
Loved, loved, loved this gem of a hotel. It's old, beautiful, pretty and its staff are second to none. Loved our bedroom with its breathtaking valley view. Swam every day in the beautiful pools in the quiet courtyards, surrounded by flowers and birdsong. Great breakfast every morning. Had dinner on a few evenings in the hotel- food was tasty with the best swordfish ever! Short walk to Xaghra with its quaint little square, where its handful of great restaurants were overlooked by the beautiful village church.
Excellent location within easy reach of Xagħra square with lots of restaurants and bars. The house itself was great with all the facilities we needed. Great rooms and lots of space. Lovely pool and roof terrace. We had a brilliant time with our 9 month old daughter and would recommend it for anyone wanting something different to the usual hotels. Caroline was an excellent host and on hand to help with anything.
The breakfast room (on the ground floor) was serene. The breakfast itself was abundant, continental style.
Rosehill is about 5 minutes’ walk to the centre of Xagħra where cafeterias, restaurants, and other shops are found. The parish Church dedicated to the Birth of Mary, mother of Jesus, is usually open during the morning. It is worth visiting.
Wonderful location on Gozo and easy walk to the sights in Xaghra. The breakfast was magnificent. This is a place that really does a filling home made breakfast. Excellent eggs, fresh made cinnamon rolls, great coffee. The hosts were so very kind and helpful. The pool would have been inviting if the weather were warmer.
Overall it was an exceptional stay. Small welcoming guesthouse with only 12 rooms. Rooms named after Gozotan villages. Impeccable cleanliness throughout. Beautiful view from the roof pool. Breakfast was very good and nicely presented, served by Sue. The owner made sure to meet us, making our stay more welcoming.
The view is fantastic, the apartment is located in a quiet place, 5min walk from the bus station in case you want to go to the capital of Gozo. The residential complex has an outdoor pool available. The host is a very supporting person, contact him on whatsapp in case you need something.
So basically the place is like the pics, we wanted to stay one day, so it was ok, there is anything around to Hotel (restaurant or groceries) you have to walk more and less 20 minutes to find a restaurant or something but the rest was perfect, clean room, amazing view
I was very happy with Kavarna hotel last time I visited 1 year ago and because of this I've now come back again as a repeat customer. The host is very kind and it's just a really nice relaxing atmosphere to be in.
The hotel was very clean especially the rooms. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. Staff are very friendly and willing to help you in everything you need. Definetely will recommend and will visit again.
The breakfast was amazing, so much choice. Never had a breakfast like it in a hotel . Location is good, 10 minute walk to restaurants in the main square . A 10 minute taxi brings you to the harbor
The apartment was beautiful, huge, and had a nice view on the beach. We spent quite a bit of time enjoying the balcony and living room. If we come back to Gozo, we will 100% stay here again
A lovely B&B in Gozo! The room was a great size, and had a lovely terrace overlooking the pool and landscape. The breakfast was excellent, and the hosts were very friendly and helpful!
The hotel is in a beautiful location, totally quiet, great for relaxation. The facilities, mainly the pools and the jacuzzi are perfect, just as the view from the rooms.
It was spacious and well-sitiated. Gozo is small enough that any sight you might want to see is within a 15 minute drive. Free parking in front of the location.
