We have come to Algodones now for 7 years.

We have come to Algodones now for 7 years. I do all my primary dental work there. We have stayed in Yuma and in Algodones. It's easier to drive in, stay in, get the dental work done, eat at two or three great places and then head back to Yuma before then heading back so Western So Ca.

You run the gamut of vendors coming and going out.

You run the gamut of vendors coming and going out. There are a lot of goods to choose from. The medical services are all conveniently located within blocks of the border entry. The locals greeted us in a friendly and respectful manner. The place seems to shut down at sundown! We were glad that the hotel we stayed in (California Comfort and Suites) had a restaurant /bar that stayed open until 10:00

Los Algodones ("Molar City") seems to exist solely for foreigners to get professional services such as dental, optical, prescription drugs and cosmetic surgery. It's not a resort town, and not a place that anyone would seek out for a holiday! That being said, Los Algodones residents are friendly, the restaurants are good, and it feels safe. Crossing the border was super quick and easy for us. We walked over in the late afternoon with zero lineup, and we walked back into the USA in late morning, also with zero delay. Not even 30 seconds to cross the border in either direction.

It is the BEST place for dental work, but you'll need to do some research because there are all kinds of dental offices, from single offices, BnBs, full-out hospital-type settings. You're safe with almost any of them.

Los Algodones is a great place to get dental work done...

Los Algodones is a great place to get dental work done reasonably and quickly and to stock up on medicines. We’ve been coming for years! Our dentist offers multi-year warranties on his clinic’s work! Just replaced 2 crowns under warranty- no charge!!! Imagine that in the US! Most medicines are readily available without RXs and at prices well below US. Even with a good drug plan, these prices are outstanding! Everyone is friendly if a tad pushy trying to convince you to choose their dentist or pharmacy but they understand NO and never harass you. Loads of fun and delightful items to bring home for kids and adults at very reasonable prices: metal sculptures, ceramics, jewelry, clothing, and leather goods. Terrific street food! Timing is important because the lines to cross back into the US can be very long - walking or by car. Plenty of parking inside the town if you prefer to drive in or you can park in the Indian lot for $6 and walk in.

Los Algodones is a border town with all of its hallmarks.

Los Algodones is a border town with all of its hallmarks. That and itself might give some people pause, but I can tell you firsthand that this is a town filled with lovely people. There are only about 3 to 5 homeless people from what I’ve been told and the locals take care of them for they have some mental problems. You also won’t see a bunch of stray hungry dogs walking around or garbage. There was one six-month-old puppy that they didn’t called stray but homeless. She was friendly and obviously had not been mistreated. I really liked that. Even the maids at the hotel were helping the puppy out. I was so tempted to bring that dog home with me! Everyone here is friendly and helpful. They’re all smiling. My driver told me that even if you walk out of a bar at night drunk there’s no danger for you to arrive at your hotel safely. This is a great town.

The location was on the edge of the tourist area but felt safe. Very basic room, clean, but a good bit of trim work was undone. Mostly modernized, not charming in any way like some of the more popular hotels seem to be. We stayed in a handicap accessible room which had a large roll in shower. The shower head had a sprayer, but it was placed so high that I don't know how someone in a wheelchair would be able to reach it.

The rooms are very small but super clean. I had everything I needed and the size meant nothing. The staff is very friendly. I loved having the restaurant/bar there where I hung out everyday making new friends with other dental tourists. I felt very safe as a single female and would definitely recommend this hotel!

Super Friendly staff Restaurant on site good food. When I say on site I mean steps from any room, I did request a parking spot ahead of time. I am disabled and we were arriving by car. They were able to accommodate. Parking is secure and within the hotel and very limited. I'm talking 8 spaces max.

Very helpful and friendly staff on both stays at this property. Perfect location for all professional offices in Los Algodones. Convenient restaurant on site and several other good eateries within a short walk. The rooms are fairly basic, but comfortable, clean and secure. Would stay again.

Breakfast was not included, but the restaurant in the same plaza served a very good breakfast and dinner for a reasonable price. The location was very central and easily walkable to shops and professional buildings. Underground secure parking was very helpful and included in the hotel price.

My wife and I liked the hotel and coffee bar in the mornings. The food and service at the restaurant were very good. We did have a little problem with our room but the staff was able to address it and provided us another room.

The price. Everything was clean. Having the restaurant attached to the hotel is very nice and the food is good and reasonably priced. Had extra storage underneath the bed.
