We only walked around after getting to Centro/Zona Romantica. We were able to walk to several great beaches, amazing restaurants, lookouts over the city, markets, etc. We never got to all of the restaurants and activities that we wanted to do! There is so much! The sunsets from the malecon are not to be missed!

There are a host of places to stay in Puerto Vallarta. But, they vary in quality. I strongly recommend the the Hyatt Zeva, Puerto Vallarta. This is an all inclusive venue. The facilities are excellent, well maintained and beautiful! I love an April visit. It is the end of the High Season. There are fewer guests, and the weather is very pleasant. we have been coming here for over 25 years, PV has changed so much. It's very busy with many tourists, but you can still find a lot of good restaurants and the people are so friendly. I come from CA, so its an easy flight and sunny when it's winter at home. Great seafood, guacamole and margaritias!

This Hacienda exceeds all others by a long shot. It is conveniently located right in the center of the Romantic Zone but just off the main drag enough to be very very quiet. The rooms are beautifully appointed with an incredible eye for detail. Super clean pool and hot tub, blackout curtains, little amenities everywhere. This place is a gem. If you can get it, go for it. You won’t find a better place.

The location inside a shopping mall is different but very convenient, as several places to snack, eat or drink are directly in front of the hotel. This is especially nice during the hot weather. The beach (Playa del Holi) is just a few hundreds meters away and easily accessible via a street behind the mall. Although the beach is more to sunbath and relax and less to swim due to low water quality (a river just flows into the ocean).
