Contained court yard, quiet, friendly and helpful staff, Carlos made sure we had everything we needed. One block from the beach, and right near the town square, so it was easy to just walk out and stroll through the village. Our one bedroom main floor apt had everything we needed including full kitchen. Glass slide outs to the courtyard to relax on lounge chairs

Excellent boutique hotel on a quiet street in Sayulita but only a short walk to the restaurants and bars. Love the minimalist and modern design of the hotel. The cafe has amazing coffee - best I've had in a long time!! We did Yoga on the rook with the Rose Room Yoga which was also terrific. I would definitely come back!

The property is well situated next to the main bus station with buses leaving for Puerto Vallarta every 15-20 minutes. To the city centre it’s only 10 minutes walk.
Property is nicely laid out where some apartments surrounding the pool and at the back of the property they have some more rooms. Property appears open and spacious
There was a stray dog which wondered into the property and was taken care of :)

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Casa de la Ballena, even with 5 days of rain. The rooms, pool, hot tub and grounds were beautiful. The perfect relaxing environment. The hotel was also in a great location, close enough to easily walk to town but far enough to be quiet in the evening during sleeping time. What made our stay perfect was the on-site hotel manager, Martin. Martin was an outstanding host and helped us with any issues we had, from driving us to town to find an IT store to fix our dead cell phone, helping secure parking for our golf cart rental and arranging airport transportation. He made sure we were happy with all of our time at the Casa de la Ballena. The hotel was a special place with special staff. And, the breakfast is awesome, with many delicious options.

It is a bustling town with a very relaxed vibe, perfect for couples or groups celebrating a birthday, anniversary or other important occasions. Sayulita has got to solve its sewage outflow problem as it affects the quality of the water on the beach. It's a beautiful seaside town with a great surf culture and a variety of bars, restaurants and entertainment venues. If they get their beach issues fixed it will be a little slice of paradise.

It’s a good mix between relaxation, activities, and partying. Main town is mixed with nightlife, hostels, restaurants etc. North is more chill, higher end hotels.
Unfortunately there is a bug/something ripping through the town causing a lot of people to get violently sick, myself included on day 5.

I think that you either really like Sayulita or you don't.
I think that you either really like Sayulita or you don't. There also seem to be recurring problems with the sewage/water system, and people getting sick there. There are a few nicer restaurants but not enough for a longer stay. Many of the less formal places required you to sit on the road or narrow sidewalk with cars, motorcycles, golf carts and the occasional horses going buy, with their inherent noise, dust and smells... There also is very little sidewalk room to walk there, so you constantly walking on the dirt/cobblestone roads, having to be vigilant and dodge traffic etc...

Interesting town, well worth 2-3 days visit.
Interesting town, well worth 2-3 days visit. Of course, as Seniors, we were not there for surfing, but enjoyed dinners at the beach and the chance to see beginners take lessons. We met many wonderful Mexican and North American tourists, and were always treated well by local Mexicans.
The hotel and property is very beautiful with a calming atmosphere. The infinity pool is great and you get a beautiful view of the bay, overlooking trees and houses.
Upon arrival we got a tour of the hotel and learnt about all the amenities. There were chairs, surfboards and umbrellas that could be used at the beach, and a yoga studio on the roof. Lots of thought went into the guest experience. Breakfast was nice. Our room was very comfortable. And the staff are excellent. We enjoyed our stay. :)
Excellent property, the staff take pride in keeping the hotel clean and being attentive to whatever you need. The beds are super comfy and the wifi was pretty good. Martin, the manager, is the hardest working man in Sayulita! From late check-ins, cleaning the grounds, making us breakfast, he does it all! He really goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. I would defintely stay at the hotel again.
Matty at the front desk was very welcoming and had a lovely surprise waiting for us in our room upon check-in for my boyfriend's birthday. She was so kind and helpful! The boutique hotel is beautiful, very aesthetic, the pool area is an Instagrammer's heaven. The cafe attached had amazing breakfast and lunch. The free yoga class is also a really nice added touch I enjoyed. Bed is nice and comfortable.
As far as I could tell this is the best hotel in Sayulita. It's right on the beach, great rooms, beautiful pool and a wonderful beachfront bar. Not a lot of amenities but it had everything we needed. It's a short walk to downtown and we appreciated not being in down down because it was generally quieter (although one night was very loud due to a wedding at the event space next door).
The pool area is perfect, the room is simple but confortable with all the basic necessities, strong wifi, great water pressure and hot water, beds are decent, overall after staying at about 6 different hotels throughout my visits to Sayulita I’d have to say this hotel is honestly the best value for you money.
The location of the Hotel is Amazing. Only 3 minutes walk to nuce restaurents and local boutiques. The hotel is very clean and the front desk ppl were very nice and helpful.
The only issue is the loud music from the nextdoor bar which goes till 12 other than that every thing was good
Great little hostel for the price. I stayed in the spacious private room, which had a comfortable king bed. Amenities are fairly basic, but overall it was quite a nice space. A bit removed from central Sayulita, which means its quieter at night than most of the downtown hotels.
The rooms at Hotel Villas Sayulita are clean and comfortable, and the beds are really soft. The hotel also has a nice pool and a great location - just a short walk to the beach. Overall, we had a good stay and would recommend this hotel to others.
Everything was perfect !
The location is near to the downtown and easy to access by walk,
The hotel was also perfect , we really appreciate the staff who was always attentive and professional
If you go to sayulita , I recommend 100% this place !
Very comfortable studio style apartment. Boutique apartment complex very secure.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Lalo, the concierge.
Pool and grounds were kept very well also. Ideal location to most that Sayulita has to offer.
Great location to get around everywhere in Sayulita. Very nice, quiet, safe hotel. Two utdoor balconies were nice. Shade on 1 side, sun on other. Noisier on street but could look out, quiet side enjoying the nice view of the pool and trees.
It was a cute hotel. Good location, you can walk to just about everything. It was very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was enjoyable. Good coffee, fresh fruit, fresh bread, lots of hot choices. Connie and her girls were very nice.
Great location - right in the center of the square in Sayulita! Was a little loud at night because of that but wasn't a major issue. Staff was friendly and let us leave our bags there after checkout and we felt safe at the hotel.
The hotel was greatly located downtown Sayulita yet being in a quieter part of it. Check in was easy, the staff were super useful and spoke great English. The room was clean and the AC was a bonus. Would stay here again.
The location is great because it's on the beach and I came to surf. Veronica was incredibly helpful and anytime I had an issue she took care of it asap. I also fell in love with the hotel kitty😻
wow, this is literally the best hotel i have ever stayed in and experienced. it’s so much love there. feels like a small community feeling. so much love in the staff.
Breakfast provided in the Taboule beach club across the street from the hotel. Food of reasonable quality. The view from room balcony of beach and ocean was great.
