The main square in the town and the few streets surrounding the hotel were really nice. However, many facilities are not open except on the weekends. The visit to the Rocks - Las Piedrotas (15 minutes by car from Tapalpa town centre) is a must..ideally early in the morning, when the mist rises from behind the rocks and the surrounding wilderness. The town is quaint and pleasant with a beautiful cathedral.

You can park easily in the street outside. It was more or less empty when we visited on Day of the Dead. The room was a bit dilapidated (shower coming off wall etc) but comfortable king-sized bed.
