Just across the street from the Uxmal Pyramids, and a 40 minutes' drive from Merida. This historic resort offers an outdoor pool and a working plantation filled with fruit trees and jogging trails.

The building itself and the garden is fantastic. Absoluetly stunning. We enjoyed the pool in the evening. The ruins are very close.

Spent about 3 hours at Uxmal site.

Spent about 3 hours at Uxmal site. Lots of large sites to see and you can wander at your own pace. It was my favorite of the sites we visited on the trip. Tickets and entry could be clearer and signage at sites in Mexico is always lacking, but the quality of the ruins and architecture is fantastic. The scale, intimacy of the visit, and amount of ruins is superb.

To really get to experience Mayan culture, the near by towns and cenotes and more archeological sites I would recommend a week in Uxmal . I loved every minute we were there . I would also recommend having a much spending money as possible, not because things are expensive it is that there is so much to do and it will cost money . Horse riding , vintage 4WD hire , the prices for the sites and tours has risen due to the pandemic . Also supporting local artists .

The site is wonderful and the hotel was surrounded by orchards birds flowers amazing palms. A couple of small interesting local museums with animals local Mayan customs and chocolate cultivation. The Lodge restaurant which also belonged to the hacienda estate was a short walk and of a high standard.

We traveled by car because my older sister has specific food needs due to ALS. A blender, two boxes of food and a cooler were graciously hauled to and from our room by the hotel staff. They could not have been more accommodating and helped to supplement her diet with fresh food from the kitchen. It was my sister's fifth and probably final trip to the awe inspiring sites of the Yucatan. We are so grateful for the experience.

Uxmal charges US citizen 4 times regular admission.

Uxmal charges US citizen 4 times regular admission. Hotel Uxmal Maya charges 33% more for using US money or cards. Do not go if you don’t want to feel ripped off. Nothing special about hotel as at every turn you have to be guarded about being ripped off.

Die to COVID and off-season Casa del Mago was closed and we received a free upgrade to the LODGE right opposite to the entry of Uxmal ruins. It was an amazing experience in a well kept park-like resort. Several buildings with a palmtree-roof-look make it very comfortable, with large rooms (the rounded corner rooms especially) well equipped with everything one can think of, spacious bath room, helpful staff, a good restaurant and Last but not least two different pool areas made it one of our best stays in Mexico!

Everything - from start to finish - was great. We were met by the concierge while still in the car, who spoke good English and walked us through the process of registering and getting the room key. The place was nearly empty - assuming due to the Covid scare - so we shared the entire complex (a fairly large property) with maybe 10 other couples / families. It was like having your own private resort. There were probably just as many staff working as there were guests, so everything was in tip-top shape.

It is a beautiful hotel, traditional but well-decorated rooms. Great swimming pool. Location is superb. Staff is very friendly. And you must have dinner here, best I had in Mexico! Sidenote: we were upgraded to the Lodge, so this is more a review of The Lodge.

The location within the jungle and proximity to Uxmal, archaeological site; the swimming pool. The elder attendant that helped carry my luggage out to my car. That there was an on-site free parking lot.

Maybe the hotel was a resort in the past, today it's an old hotel and it needs some TLC. They should pay more attention to the details, that is what hospitality is about.
