A beautiful and historical towns with lots of things to discover. The food here are nice and very cheap. The well maintained Lake Garden and the hiking trails of Bukit Larut. Most of all, come and experience the warmth and friendliness of the Taiping folks.

Lots of greenery with the lake and park, plus good to hire bicycles even if a little pricy (RM5-20 per 30 mins depending on the type). Several historical places and an interesting Museum of Perak. Plenty of places to eat and enjoy local flavours.

This was my first time in Taiping.
This was my first time in Taiping. It was a very nice medium sized town. My friend and I were there for a wedding and we had a lot of time the evening before to walk around and explore the place. Tasik Taiping is a wonderful public park with food, bicycle rental, walking trails and just lots of no-cost (except the bike rental) things to do. There are also playgrounds for kids. We ate at a nasi kandar place across the street from Tasik Taiping but I forget the name. It was delicious and very popular. Cost was low. We stayed at Novotel and there was a huge fruit market nearby so we got some dessert for the evening. It is the worst I ever booked due to the location which is just nice for me to travel to visit my friends, 5 minutes drive away. Taiping is a small town, I was happy to get the same hair band for RM2.50 whilst I bought it for RM8.90 in KL. Food is good and cheap and u can't miss the Taiping Lake Garden. U may consider staying opposite AEON mall, good location and a comfortable room where we moved in the next day.AAnonymous

Yong Tau Foo belakang bomba is just across the road, we can see from the hotel lobby. 7E is available at the shopping mall below the hotel. Walking to Lake Garden is a breeze, just about 5 to 15 minutes depending to walking pace. Staff are responsive and friendly.
