Luderitz was a gem of history, the most beautiful old buildings in town, and amaizing sunset views over the bay. Kolmanskop, just outside of town, is a must to visit. There is really nothing of Luderitz , that we did not like.

Luderitz is a very historical town with German colonial buildings and architecture. The abandoned diamond town of Kolmanskop is 10 km away and is a most interesting place to explore on foot. The waterfront area is good to explore on foot. There is also good seafood to be enjoyed at restaurants like the Portuguese Fisherman. Kolmanskop is closed at 1 pm while other attractions like the Luderitz museum and Felsenkirk are only open in the afternoons.

Beutiful town with many hidden gems.
Beutiful town with many hidden gems. Kolmanskop is just out of town and is a must visit as well as the Dias cross and harbour.
I was pleasantly surprised. The town must be one of the friendliest places I have ever visited.

It is a clean, neat, overall safe place to visit.
It is a clean, neat, overall safe place to visit. We've checked into the hotel and basically covered most of the historic buildings, restaurants, shops and scenery by foot. Kolmanskop is a definite must to visit.

Great destination.
Great destination. Historical settlement of early diamond miners - see nearby Kolmanskop. Keen photographers can capture amazing images of a Namib desert invasion of the town's abandoned dwellings. Excellent guiding of this very unusual museum.
Luderitz is renowned for it's fresh oysters and beautiful sunsets that can be viewed from surrounding rocky outcrops. The Portuguese explorer B. Diaz landed here in 1488. Present day Portuguese owned restaurant 'The Fisherman' will fly Bacalhau in for you but offers similar great seafood alternatives.
Disappointment was however experienced with the no-show of staff at two historical buildings, Felsenkirche and Goerke House, despite claiming to be open. Many tourists had to turn around.

Nice old German town in the Namibian desert.
Nice old German town in the Namibian desert. The people are very friendly and helpful. Just be aware of the wind. Highlights are definitely the eerie ghost town of Kolmanskop and the Penguin Catamarans tours (penguins and flamingos in the desert!). Just be careful with the Peninsula drive. Beautiful environment, but roads, especially in its eastern side are not very well marked due to a lot of illegal off-roading and it is extremely difficult to reach the historic Diaz Cross, due to the bridge over the tidal are having been washed away and the extreme wind.
The apartment was very large and spacious (3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms) with a large lounge and kitchen area with seating in the kitchen. It was very comfortable for our family of 5. We loved staying in the historical building and found it very charming. Debbie was very helpful in accommodating all the changes to our booking. The location is great and central to everything in Luderitz and it was very convenient being located right next door to a lovely little restaurant (Diaz Coffee Shop)
We were in Luderitz for one night. There were four of us in two separate one bedroom /bathroom accommodation. It has been designed brilliantly to maximise space. It was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Both the manager and owner were very welcoming. There was a separate kitchen containing utensils , pans, a fridge and crockery which available for use. We ate out but used it as a space to play cards.
Well located guest house in the heart of Luderitz. Not much to look at from the outside, but the courtyard inside is lush , tranquil and cool. Units are self catering, clean and modern and come with everything you need. Hosts were super friendly and always made sure we were well looked after. Although in the heart of the town and parking is outside, there is 24 hour security And we never ever felt uneasy
This studio apartment is very tidy but complete, very well laid out, organized and optimized for staying several days. Kitchen is well equipped for cooking and I did just that.
Location is slightly outside of town but quiet.
no heat and Luderitz is cold, hosts provided me with 2 additional blankets.
If opting for a one bedroom there is a washer machine
Amazing hosts, really accommodating
Our hosts, Felicia and Reggie, were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The accommodation may have been small but it was very welcoming and comfortable. There was great attention to detail, including a little Christmas tree, to make it feel homely. All our self-catering needs were met. Felicia gave us great ideas on how to spend our time in Luderitz which was most helpful.
Only stayed 1 night before heading on our Namibia roadtrip.
We arrived very early and were given our room before established time, much appreciated.
Clean, spotless room with a great seaview as was literally on the rocks near the water.
Prawn platter at dinner was delicious.
Friendly helpful staff at reception.
We spent two nights in this very nice old villa. The staff is very friendly and helpful and welcomed us with a nice apple pie. We got the Studio with Ocean View even though we booked only the double room. The studio has a nice view over Lüderitz and the sea. we would definitely recommend it for a stay in Lüderitz.
Room was a good size, comfortably furnished and well equipped. Balcony with good sea views. There was a ceiling fan but no A/C - this seems to be quite usual in Luderitz. Parking was right outside the room.
Helpful staff at reception.
Breakfast was fair and reasonable, fact that we are gluten intolerant makes it more difficult for hosts in a place like Lüderitz, we had our own supplies of critical foods. Would go to Wildhorses again, hosts are splendid people.
We liked everything about our accommodation. Friendliest hosts and the room was beautiful and clean. Would definitely recommend this place as it's good value for money and it's a walking distance from Luderitz waterfront.
- exceptional location directly at the Atlantic shoreline
- never seen before: direclty from sauna, we observed whales in the bay of Luderitz. Exeptional. Where you can observe wild whales from sauna?
Reccomend.
A very nice family hotel with very nice hosts. The location is good, close to every interesting in the city. Nice patios with a place to have a breakfast.
