Very friendly staff, including Timo, the owner, who I ran into on a couple of occasions, out and about in Luderitz. This included havring a slice of Easter cheesecake each in my favourite restaurant there. The microwave also came in handy when all the food outlets closed on Good Friday. 😊

We only were able to spend two nights here but we could have stayed longer. There’s some lovely old buildings to see and photograph in the shopping main area. We visited Kolmamskopp, an abandoned town and Agate beach where you can see flamingos on the lagoon. Luderitz is a very historical town with German colonial buildings and architecture. The abandoned diamond town of Kolmanskop is 10 km away and is a most interesting place to explore on foot. The waterfront area is good to explore on foot. There is also good seafood to be enjoyed at restaurants like the Portuguese Fisherman. Beutiful town with many hidden gems. Kolmanskop is just out of town and is a must visit as well as the Dias cross and harbour. I was pleasantly surprised. The town must be one of the friendliest places I have ever visited.

It is a clean, neat, overall safe place to visit. We've checked into the hotel and basically covered most of the historic buildings, restaurants, shops and scenery by foot. Kolmanskop is a definite must to visit.

Great destination.
Great destination. Historical settlement of early diamond miners - see nearby Kolmanskop. Keen photographers can capture amazing images of a Namib desert invasion of the town's abandoned dwellings. Excellent guiding of this very unusual museum. Luderitz is renowned for it's fresh oysters and beautiful sunsets that can be viewed from surrounding rocky outcrops. The Portuguese explorer B. Diaz landed here in 1488. Present day Portuguese owned restaurant 'The Fisherman' will fly Bacalhau in for you but offers similar great seafood alternatives. Disappointment was however experienced with the no-show of staff at two historical buildings, Felsenkirche and Goerke House, despite claiming to be open. Many tourists had to turn around.

The best value for money, so if you hesitate between this and another hostel in Luderitz, please, select this one, it is amazing and you wont regret it! The owner helped us on our arrival, she showed us a map with all the things to do around, and she called on our behalf, to book a trip for the following morning. The room was clean, comfortable bed and hot water. Wifi is available as well. You can park inside, so your car is safe. It is next to a petrol station.
