The hotel was in a great location, just next to one of the big stations in Amsterdam. So it was easy to get anywhere from here (it didn't seem like there was anything notable in this specific area but we mainly spend time in the city center anyway). Our room was decent and had most of the necessities for the four of us, although it wasn't the newest or cleanest.
Holiday Inn Express is situated next to Sloterdijk train station which offers convenient connections to Amsterdam Central Station and Schiphol Airport.
Leonardo Hotel Amsterdam Rembrandtpark offers modern and elegant rooms next to Rembrandtpark and the A10 ring road in Amsterdam.

Let's start with location; when viewing this hotel for the first time, it seemed miles away from the city centre, but it was only a 20/30 minutes tram ride on the number 13 tram or 7, one stop away from the hotel from the main station as long as you remember to tap in and tap out each time.
The room we ended up upgrading was fantastic, with loads of rooms and a great view of the city with a bath and shower. The bed was so large and comfortable that we both had a great night's sleep. Please bear in mind that on Fridays & Saturday nights, the bar on the 17th floor plays music until the late hours.
Breakfast was great, and it was everything you would expect from this type of hotel. If you're early enough, you get a great view from the 17th floor.
