Hotel Spaander is located in a prime position in Volendam on the banks of the Lake Markermeer. This historical hotel dating back to 1881 has a truly authentic Dutch feel to it.

Beautiful modern suite. Loved the old town. Loved the restaurants. Bit far by public transport to city but well worth it.

Volendam is a very quaint and cute town! We only stayed for a couple days and it was enough time to walk around the waterfront, shops and eat at a few restaurants. I would highly recommend staying in Volendam.

The hotel rooms were nice and comfortable.
The hotel rooms were nice and comfortable. There was balcony space but not clean so couldn’t sit out but could be the case because they were renovating.
We booked with breakfast and were disappointed because there were no vegetarian options for the hot breakfast. The selection of bread was good but the cereals and fruit were limited.
We were pleased with the rest of the hotel facilities - swimming pool was good

Volendam is well worth a 2 night stay, to allow for a trip to Marken Island, variety of sea view restaurants, walks, cycling or just to sit and have a coffee and watch the fishing boats and the world go by. Day trip is not enough. Would return again for a short break.

A beautiful coastal town packed full with character and charm, and lots of quant eateries overlooking the Markemeer, all within easy reach of Amsterdam, Zaanse Schans and Schiphol and connected by the highway network. A hidden gem that we'll definitely return to in future, but for longer next time!!
The location was perfect. It was nice and quiet even though the property was a few minutes walk to the shops, bars and restaurants. Easy access to the supermarket and bus routes into Amsterdam. The car park was close by, free to use and easy to park. The hosts were welcoming and informative and even left us a beautiful cake to enjoy on our arrival. We stayed as a family of 5 and there was plenty of room for us all. We can’t wait to return! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Pros:
Clean, clean, clean! I love how clean this place was, and such a great location. Close to the dyke with food, shops, and the ferry to Marken. Right next to the grocery store and about a 15 minute walk to charming little Pieterman beach. Fun hosts—super friendly and helpful people. Great place with kids.
Cons:
A bit of nightlife noise since you are right on the plaza so you may want to ask for a room in the back if this bothers you. Spiral stairs are a bit steep.
It was very interesting to us as we did not expect a non traditional hotel with no lobby. But it did not made us feel any less as we were very interested on how to enter the apartment / room. Perhaps it might help to highlight in description especially for the elder group age to refer as they would prefer hotel staff for check in / room services etc.
A superb little accomodation, only minutes from central Volendam, with it,s marvelous traditional dutch buildings, great cafe,s & traditional dutch costumed staff.
Our host Patrick was very attentive.
This was a long awaited return to Volendam for me, a place I visited many times over many years.
Location is accessible to public transport
The location is walking distance to the city center but if one wants to take the bus it is also possible.
The site is clean and the surroundings are very pet friendly, our dog also enjoyed this place.
Fantastic location. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Had a lovely meal there in the evening overlooking the harbour. Could store our bikes securely in the basement. If visit Volendam again will definitely stay again.
The location of the property was excellent, you are right by the beach front and the town. The B&B was very clean and comfortable. The jacuzzi was amazing on a cold night. The host was very nice. Great stay.
Perfect location right in the middle of Volendam sea front's heart. Easy access to supermarket, bakery, cafes, pubs, shops etc. Kitchen facilities are more than enough for a few days. Good heating.
The location is idyllic and peaceful perched on a little canal with a green lawn behind it. Volendam itself is a nice change from Amsterdam and the harbor and ships are scenic.
