As the end of the Geiranger Fjord, the village is constantly under a constant flow of tourists coming with the huge cruise ships.
The village per se has nothing else special versus other Norwegian villages on any other fjord, but this constant movement of people from the ships gives it the opportunity to be super busy and even more expensive than the normal expensive Norway.

It is probably one of the nicest areas of Norway, and the Geiranger Fjords should be visited by everyone when in Norway.
Despite the distances involved, visitors should get out and about, driving cars there requires some skill and attention, but the roads are well maintained. (Watch out for hikers and bikers!).
A day trip to Alesund is also recommended!

Geiranger is one of the most attractive destinations in the world , the nature itself is a reward and what i suggest is that the concerned authorities can add more services here and there to meet the needs and the expectations of all tourists from all over the world , like more supermarkets , more shopping options etc

Nice little village but very touristy when cruise liners are in. Limited choice of restaurants. Lots of tourist goods shops, boat trips available along with kayaking etc. A nice place to chill for a couple of days.

The cabin was well equipped with microwave, oven and kettle. The place is clean and the bathroom was very spacious. The space was just nice, compact but not too small. There was also laundry in the bathroom and dryer close by. This was a real plus as I was travelling around Norway for over 25 days.
The location was 5 mins from town and the road to and from town was very easy. Great location with beach view

So many natural beauty places to see around here, and hikes to do. I would recommend hiring a boat for fjord exploration at your own pace. Taking a short drive to the Dalsnibba viewpoint is a must, as well as to any of the other close-by viewpoints. Walk the steps next to the powerful display of water flowing into the fjord. Take a canoe/kayak and see the many waterfalls from up close.
Amazing view of Geiranger fjord. We hired a motorboat at reception for 2 hours which was perfect to tour the fjord. The staff on site were amazing. This was the best customer service we had in Norway. September was a great month to visit. It rained one day which made the waterfalls more impressive. The next morning, we woke up to blue sky and snow on the top of the mountains. The cabin was absolutely spotless and the bathroom beautiful, equipped with a rain shower.
Very good value for money. We booked the one cottage apartment and the view was awesome, I dare say the best out of Geiranger (even better than the hotels around there). It was super comfortable, especially since the bedroom was completely separate from the kitchen and living area. It included everything we needed. They were also very responsive and helpful when I asked to do a late check in. 10/10 definitely recommend this.
We had a view of the fjord!!!!!!!!! There was a waterfall just behind our cabin!!!!!!!!!! Our cottage was just right for our needs and had a wonderful porch to eat meals and take in the view. The shared bath was spacious, super clean and handy just behind our cabin. And you'd think with a waterfall and the bathroom so close, we'd have no quiet; but the cabin was so well built, the waterfall was just a nice whisper.
I liked everything in this stay: staff, place and a view from the cabin. Special thanks for the cleanness. I was surprised to see such a tidy and clean shared toilet rooms in camping. They are more like as in the hotels.
Place itself not in a center of Geiranger, but it's a plus, so you can enjoy the silence and greet the sun on a sunrise (because it's located on another side of the fjord). Highly recommend!
The location was amazing and also the check-in and out was very smooth. The cabin is very spacious and offers a unique view over the Geirangerfjord and the city of Geiranger. A huge benefit was the additional boat rental which I can only recommend as it gives you a great chance to explore Geiranger fjord from the water.
LOVED the view from the cottage; LOVED the location on the shore of the fjord; LOVED that they had a simple motor boat , SUP to rent affordability. Our private evening boat ride up the fjord was so peaceful and beautiful.. one of our favorite adventures of our NORWAY adventure.
On side of mountain in historic farm location above town of Geiranger. Woke to Llamas grazing on the land below guest cabins. Can’t speak to restaurant because we didn’t eat there. Our room was rustic but functional and fine for a one-night stay or hiking basecamp.
Hole Hytter at Geiranger was amazing. The view was even better than the pictures. The cabin was wonderful and our family of six slept great and enjoyed everything about it. The only thing we wish was that our stay was longer. We can’t wait to come back.
The most beautifull hotel in our trip to Norway. Spectacular view to the fjord, lovely room with balcony, stunning location in Geiranger. Excellent breakfast an dinner buffet. Ellen at the reception was incredible in her warm welcome. Thank you Ellen.
the view from our cabin was breathtaking. a beautiful setting and a very spacious cabin. by far the best accommodation throughout our trip in Norway. would recommend for anybody and everybody looking for something unique and special!
The view over the fjord and the waterfall is amazing.
The room (double room with fjord view) was spacious and comfortable.
We really enjoyed the outdoor jacuzzi. It was a good way to relax after discovering the Geiranger fjord.
The view from the room is mountains or Geiranger but that's all about this hotel. Within driving distance of Geiranger (wouldn't recommend walking as it is uphill). Breakfast is average but then that's Europe. Free parking.
I had the room with a balcony and the view (albeit over the roof of the hotel annex) was stunning looking directly at the fjord. However the room was very small.
Chatting to the staff.
The hotel's strong point is the location, of course. It is located in the heart of Geiranger, with very easy access to all the activity points, restaurants, etc.
