The town lacks any notable features and is not particularly attractive. Our stop here was to break a long journey north from Alesund to Tromso, so Steinkjer was a reasonable location to do so. I'd recommend a stay here on this basis.

We did have a great stay here. Hotel staff is very helpful and service minded. And you make your own waffle cakes in the reception between 16.00-22.00hrs. And you have cold supper from 19.00-22.00 hrs. Hotelrooms have a standar lay out and they have been refurbished. Beds are good and you will feel re-freshed after a good night sleep. Will stay here again,thats for sure.

Hotel is worn out and needs a reconstruction urgently. The free dinner is included in the price and it consists of 2-3 main courses and cold starters. Cold starters were ok but none of the main courses was good or tasty.

It is worth mentioning that coffee and waffles are free for guests. It was nice that dinner is included in the price. Great evening buffet. Great breakfast buffet. We were completely satisfied.
