Trolltunga is worth to see but the hike is very long and very hard even for young people that are not necessarily trained but slim and normal active.
The Fjord are just amazing and the scenery can also be discovered by car along the road. It´s even possible to hike up to a glacier. Unique experience since I have never done that before. For people coming from the city it needs to be noted that dinner should be properly planned since everything is closing very early.

Lots of hikes that we didn’t know about when we booked.
Lots of hikes that we didn’t know about when we booked. We hiked trolltunga, which was absolutely amazing. The walk up is not overly challenging but still quite physical! We camped at the top which was very easy to do, and we managed to take some incredible photos when on the rock.
What a lovely property, quite nearby to the Trolltunga hike, and the lovely towns of Tyssedal and Odda. We were a group of seven, so one of our party had to sleep in the common room on the large sofa, but it was not uncomfortable and we were happy with the extra linens and pillows provided. The rooms were all comfortable and the supplies provided met our needs. Check-in was very easy, and we were very grateful for that process as we got into town quite late in the evening.
We had an apartment for two nights to use as a base for the Trolltunga hike, and it was ideal. Free parking, good Wi-Fi, easy check in/out. Pretty nice view. Plenty of space to move around - and to dry wet clothes!
Kitchen was well equipped (no toaster but there’s a grill) with a useful supply of salt/pepper/oil and tea/coffee/sugar.
They have a deal with the hotel nearby - a free glass of local cider and 10% off food in the restaurant.
The hotel was a last-minute find, but we could not have been happier. The bed was great and the window opens wide to let in the cool night air! The location was ideal for our trip to Trolltunga and the included breakfast fueled us for the hike. Later, at dinner, we enjoyed local apple liqueurs that were amazing! My only regret is that we forgot to buy some to take home.
Hotel is a very good hotel to start the hike of trolltunga.
The staff was great. We got help to prepare ourselves for the trolltunga hike with children.
Room is comfortable and functional
The hotel restaurant is good. The food is too sophisticated for children. Richer kids friendly menu would be great
15 min drive to P2 parking
Great to have a room that actually sleeps 4 people.
Other hotels promise thins and then give you a 40yo paper thing sofabed.
Tyssedal hotel was very comfortable. Food was good for adults and kids.
For the money it was decent.
Stay here instead of Odda.
When we got to Odda it was a dump in comparison.
The location was very strategic, it was as close to the famous Trolltunga hike as you could get. It had a little bit of backpackers vibe. The breakfast was early and they could really give you tips for the hike because the staff had done it multiple times. Also a very good restaurant in the hotel.
spacious with good kitchen and living areas. ideal for hiking to Trolltunger. Reception staff were very helpful, and provided a voucher for a welcome local cider at the Tyssedel Hotel. great panoramic view of the mountains from our bedroom. Easy parking at the front.
Hotel was better than anticipated. Our room looked like it was recently renovated, which a new modern bathroom (other than the pictures). Staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food in the restaurant was also very good.
Convenient location for the Trolltunga hike.
Very good restaurant in the main hotel.
Good view from a large window and comfortable beds.
Very clean and spacious.
Check in is at the “parent hotel”.
Bedrooms, toilet, shower and kitchen were very tidy and clean.
Beds were comfortable.
Easy access to the hotel and breakfast.
Staff were super friendly and did their best to please us all.
Perfect location at 5 minutes driving from the P1 (Trolltunga Hike).
The staff was really welcoming and helpfull.
Room service from the Tyssedal Hôtel, really appreciated !
