Ulvik is a jewel that we really discovered by chance.
Ulvik is a jewel that we really discovered by chance. Two nights was simply not enough. We met the most amazing and friendly people. The staff in the tourist information shop were so good. They were locals and knew the social and cultural history. An amazing stay. Strand Hotel staff were super helpful.

Dinner was Super expensive, I will not say no, but the chef is top. Always ask for a Table Fan which will be given to you on request, as u will need 1 for slight air circulation in the room….coz u will need to shut the windows coz of the outside noise and mosquitoes sometimes.…or else u might feel stuffy or sweaty in the middle of the night…..this is a tip to be used in the whole of Norway.

The room was large, the hotel is old, everything in wood what I liked (I think it has more them 70 years) and the staff was very welcome. It is placed on the front of the fiord, where you can take a small walk. Have a small gaming room, football table and ping-pong which is good on a rainy day. The breakfast was good for the Hotel

The staff was super professional and friendly and very helpful. We had the opportunity to sit in the private hot tub by the fjord when it was cold and raining and it was fantastic. The breakfast spread was great and the checkout time of noon gave us plenty of time to enjoy our morning. We loved it.

Our room was located in an adjacent building 'river view'. Indeed the mini river/ stream was located right (2 meters) behind the room. The water sounds were nice and it makes sure you don't hear traffic noise. Beds are very comfortable.
