Community Homestay is a network of 15 private families who rent a room of their homes. It's managed by a central office where they match the visitors with the hosts: it's a great way to support the local economy and community. The problem is that our room was quite different from the description available on Booking (!!) Our host was a lovely Nepali family living in the centre of Panauti village, they were really nice and made us feel at home. But the accomodation was so different from the description on Booking: in the house there was no sink (!) nor shower, only a WC. The beds were wooden boards with 3cm mattress (!) where sleeping was impossible, we spent most of the night well awake for the back pain. Of course the problem is not the host family but the Homestay office who must provide accurate info about the reality. We paid 80€ which is the triple of a 3*** hotel (!)

Raja RAM the manager was incredibly helpful and welcoming. He picked me up at the bus station and dropped me when I left. Extending my stay was really easy and he had lots of suggestions for local sites. They also have a partnership with the only spa in Dulikhel - so if you really need a bath you can get one. I got a massage and body scrub from them. I was so relaxed I started to fall asleep right at the end! The dhal here is delicious! Also the masala chai is great. I loved watching the sun rise or set from the rooftop cafe they have. The view on a clear day is spectacular and partly cloudy days make the sunsets more colorful.

We liked dinner and breakfast very much All the people of the hostel were very friendly They left us completely free to go our own way The room had two different vieuws of the mountains and evey day was warmed up by the sun.
