We had a room on the 10th floor with a floor to ceiling view of the stunning mountains so I feel extremely lucky! The room itself was very comfortable and the staff were super friendly - from reception to the dining areas.

Fantastic mountain views all around the property and there's direct access to the edge of the lake. Stayed in the dorm for 2 nights and got the upper bunk bed by the window, it was such a treat to wake up to this amazing view each morning. Great to have a toilet in the dorm too and not have to go outside in the cold especially at night.
Featuring garden views, Mount Cook Station Shearers Quarters Lodge in Lake Tekapo features accommodation, a garden, barbecue facilities and a shared lounge.

Superb location, views were breathtaking! Great to meet other travellers and to chat with the host. The kitchen facilities were good catering for several groups. Everything lovely and clean.

Amazing place, surrounded by mountains.
There are limited options for entertainment/dinning, however it offers endless options for walks of all grades, hikes, nature photography.

We did a 19 day road trip around the lower North Island, and Mount Cook Village was my favourite place to stay. Id love to go back again some time. Sadly for us due to being delayed due to issues with the interislander we only got to stay here for one night. We took an amazing scenic flight and landed on the Tasman glacier. We had the perfect day for it. The smorgasbord restaurant at the Hermitage was fantastic, one of the better smorgasbord's Ive had. I would love to come back here some day and do some of the shorter walks around the area and just to experience this majestic place once more.

Being able to see the glacier from the top part of the village. Our fantastic day trip to Lake Tasman to get close to icebergs and and the glacier at one end of the lake. (not the glacier seen from the village).

The village is located in an amazing place.
The village is located in an amazing place. If are self catering while in the village you will need to bring your supplies with you. There is very limited grocery items for sale.
There is a cafe and restaurant located in the Hermitage complex. The other dining places are closed.

There is limited accommodation at Mount Cook village and it is all expensive. There are many well marked and maintained paths from the road end which allow walks off between one hour and six hours to be safely undertaken. There are no shops or independent restaurants or food outlets, unless you are self catering, you will have to eat in the expensive hotels. The most economical way to visit would be by Campervan bringing all of your supplies with you The self catering options are limited to the motel, which is in my opinion, overpriced for the accommodation it offers.

I did not like Mt Cook Village at all. Hard to get around.
I did not like Mt Cook Village at all. Hard to get around. Nowhere to buy food or snacks and restaurant closed during the day. Inflated prices. I think our experience would have been much better but unfortunately the weather was dreadful and hence we had no views and were unable to do our planned walk. All in all it was a very disappointing experience.

We were lodged one night in the hotel and one night in the motel as the hotel was overbooked and is not able to manage bookings correctly. The hotel room was passable, nothing special. Whereas the motel was nicely furnished and well equipped for a nice, cosy stay in the mountains. Honestly the motel is much better. Bigger, cosier, more modern, quieter and much more spacious. The view is spectacular from any point of view.
incredible location right in the centre of mount cook village. there’s a very well equipped kitchen in the common dining room (people were cooking fish and mussels, BBQing steak on the patio, drinking wine from provided glasses). excellent view of mount cook from the dining room.
rooms were clean and comfortable but rather basic and cramped for the price.
The room was on the ground floor. The common kitchen and lounge was amazing with plenty of room for multiple people preparing and eating meals. The lounge faced Aoraki and when it was clear, the view was breathtaking. Being close to the trailheads deep in the valley was fantastic. The bathroom was cozy but had a wonderful shower.
We had an amazing view, a full kitchen, a bedroom, a table by the sliding door, a couch, all was clean. this was the family unit of the mount cook lodge and motel. Not to be confused with the heritage hotel, which is more of a high-rise. Lots of hiking trails nearby, there is the wonderful glacier explorer cruise, which we loved.
Very clean, well maintained lodge with good rooms for a lodge - we had a studio with kitchenette with french doors onto our own terrace . Communal rooms are great - large kitchen for communal cooking with several large tables and sofas opening into a deck with basically the same view of Mount cook as the Hermitage hotel !
The location is very near to the trailheads. (Actually, there are not many hotels in the national park haha)
The cafetaria is good and with a lot of declious food, e.g. meat pies! It is very sad that it is not open in the night.
The views from every corner in the hotel is awesome! Very spectaluar! Total recommend it!
Location, walking distance to beautiful visitor center and short drive to trail heads. Walking distance to restaurants.Community Room was large with lots of kitchen appliances, kitchen items, lots of tables, chairs and lounge area. Deck with tables, chairs and two grills. On a clear day excellent views of Mt Cook.
Great room, very quiet and clean.
The manager was very friendly and gave some good local advice.
We had a great view of the glaciers near Mount Cook, but couldn't see the mountain itself.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Aoraki Court Motel and recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the area.
affordable and cosy hostel in Mount Cook village, great views across the mountains and easy access to lots of hikes. it’s wooden interior is rustic but very cosy, and there was good heating and plenty of blankets to stay cozy - and a good sized and clean kitchen.
Wow! Wow! Wow! This place was like staying inside a postcard view. Exceptional service as we had a group of 8 people cycling the A2O and nothing was a problem for the staff. A World Class Hotel and venue to start your A2O journey.
Super nice accommodation-- honestly felt like hotel quality bedding, soap and shampoo and conditioner in the showers, really nice beds. Very nice common area and kitchen with great views and perfectly located for bus travel.
While we did have a some view of the mountains we were on a lower floor which meant that we also had to look at the roof of the restaurant. Hotel was very clean. Very good location. The front desk staff were very good.
This is about as good as it gets for a YHA hostel. The interior of the hostel has a cool wilderness lodge vibe to it, the dorms are clean and comfortable, and the beds have curtains for privacy.
