Overall the experience was good but nothing to write home about. Main upside perhaps was the spacious room although the furnishings and decor could do with a refresh. Also a key upside of the property was the nice swimming pool facilities and outdoor spa. It's a pity we didn't leave time to enjoy these. The spa clinic (La Spa Naturale) was top notch however and definitely our highlight. Location was reasonable, quite easily walkable to the town centre. The restaurant was nicely presented for breakfast - food was good and reasonably priced, overall the hotel and restaurant staff were attentive but not all that friendly.

Kingsgate Hotel Paihia offers a memorable waterfront location, just 100 metres from Paihia wharf. The hotel offers views across the Bays brilliant blue sea and out to Russell.

A great location walking distance to everything, room size was good and clean bed comfortable overlooking a nice garden area . A great restaurant for meals, we had breakfast there which was very enjoyable.
