Didnt know which cafe to choose, but this one had a lot of people in it, so we chose this one.Hot chocolate cafe. The big breakfast and the pancakes were delicious. Quaint, busy little township, just caught the tail end of the market. We stumbled on another cafe further up, which sold this devine louise cake & caramel wheaty slice. Yummy. I thoroughly enjoyed the Nakontong Thai restaurant for dinner too.

Shared bathroom and toilet wasn't good.

Shared bathroom and toilet wasn't good. Luckily for me there was only one other guest a female but that was awkward as we both wanted to shower at the same time. Lucky for both of us there were not 3 couples staying at the same time.

The Coastal walkway is a good walk. Old town worth a visit.

The Coastal walkway is a good walk. Old town worth a visit. Lots of good places to eat in town and some good shops and cafes. Lots of walks up the Kauaeranga river Valley in the Cormandel Forest Park. Good base for surrounding areas, we did full circuit of Carmandel from here. Also enjoyed Gold mines tour at Waihi and walks on the Whatawheta river gorge

The Thames Goldmine Experience was awesome.

The Thames Goldmine Experience was awesome. It is run by volunteers that are passionate about keeping the history alive. We've been to several mine attractions, but this is the only one that has original equipment that actually runs for demonstration.

    The hospitality was so lovely,

The hospitality was so lovely, Maybe if the booking system changes the office and customers will be much happier. I believe that I had booked a flat but on arrival, we ended up with cabin 7 it was so small, we had no hot plate and no bowls, I know for a fact that I would have never booked anything with only bunks as my sister and I would never feel comfortable sleeping on bunks and I would have never expected my 5-month pregnant niece to climb up and down bunks, however, we did get to stay in flat 4 for our last day and night and it was so lovely something we would have expected from the beginning, having been able to have flat 4 for the last day and night made up for everything that went wrong, once again we would love to thank you for your beautiful hospitality we are looking forward to our next break there which will be in flat 4 26th - 29th of January 2024 Auckland Anniversary and yes we most definitely will recommend your holiday park to friends and families.

Friendly easygoing owners of a historical building that is part of the Thames/Coromandel experience. The owners are very open about the “gold rush” simplicity of their home & provided lots of history to go with it. The whole package worked well for us. And yes, key to b&b success, breakfast arrangements were great for getting our days off to a good start, on time & owners were keen to assist in providing information and/or supplies where they could. THANK YOU!

We just spent one night at the motel to escape cyclone Gabrielle so we didn’t get to enjoy the pool or other facilities. But we appreciated the super friendly welcome by the staff and the clean and comfortable room. The location is great to explore Thames and the area. The kitchenette has everything needed to prepare breakfast or small meals. Beds were comfortable and felt fairly new.

An absolutely gorgeously renovated historic hotel. The bedrooms were large and tastefully decorated. The beds were comfortable, and everything was immaculately clean, including the shared bathrooms. The cooked breakfast was delicious and a great start to the day. A credit to all the owners' hard work.

Big room and bathroom. Very comfortable furnishings. Kitchen was stocked with all necessary cooking equipment. Lovely little touches like a handmade postcard gift and cards and dice to use for playing games. The hotel was also making a conscientious effort to reduce or eliminate the use of plastics.

This property is very quaint, and the staff was extra helpful as we acclimated to New Zealand. Our unit was well-sized and perfect for our needs. It's the perfect base of operations for exploring the Coromandel.
