Hillview was a lovely place as was the surroundings.

Hillview was a lovely place as was the surroundings. There was a pub up the road that was very good and reasonably priced The mobile home was cosy and warm with everything you would need for your stay. There was also an outside area where you could sit and enjoy their beautiful garden. And the sunrise which was spectacular.

Enjoyed the history as were awesome, but would have liked more food choices in the village. What we did get was excellent. Had a watch battery replaced as well as purchased goods and the service was very good. We were also given a small gift for purchasing there

Enjoyed the Botanic Gardens and the Arboretum where volunteers have put together a trail of 'tree spotting' around the grounds. We ate at The Waimate on Queen St - beautiful refurbished building. The food was excellent and service was great. And don't forget the murals on the grain silos

Waimate is a small town very quaint and peaceful as it's off the main road. It only has one supermarket that was New World but also had other little shops scattered around. Friendly people and a lovely atmosphere. A wonderful place.
