Starry Domes Desert Camp, hotel in Bidiyah

Starry Domes Desert Camp offers air-conditioned accommodation in Bidiyah. Boasting room service, this property also provides guests with a terrace. Rooms have a patio.

Location is good, if you want something remote and in the desert and an authentic desert experience, it is ideal. The main reason we speak so positively is due to the staff, Murshid was out guide/driver/tour guide etc etc and went above and beyond. He was helpful, informative and honestly gave us the experience of a lifetime. Outside of the dome we had the best time we could ask for.

Sultan Private Desert Camp, hotel in Bidiyah

Sultan Private Desert Camp is situated in Bidiyah. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking.

The camp was extremely private. It's located in full isolation between the dunes. There are 3 Bedouin tents in total, each with their own toilet facilities with running water. The tents are equipped with beds, several chairs, towels and (solar) lanterns. We had two young children with us and were provided with an extra bed and a sturdy cot. The transfer from a nearby village to the camp was punctual and not uncomfortable (bear in mind that it's off-road driving in the sand dunes). The transfer does cost RO15 per person, above the cost of the stay. Meals are provided in a nearby camp; the host would pick us up for those. Dinner was deliciously barbecued chicken with a buffet of rice, lentils, salad, etc. Omani coffee and dates were always served as well. A campfire was set up per our wishes, and we were returned to our own tent when we wished. The host generously provided us with extra water and spare torches. In the morning we were picked up for breakfast; eggs, beans, vegetables, cheese and jams were available, in addition to bread baked in coals where we sat. It is possible to ride camels or take a car tour through the dunes, but we didn't do those. We saw a sled and a snowboard in the camp where we had our meals, but it was not offered to us and we didn't ask. The host speaks Arabic and English.

Everything here was great. The tent was big and clean, the breakfast and dinner were various and delicious, and the staff were friendly as well. The most important reason why we love here is because of Rashid, he was super friendly, kind, and funny! We stayed here in January and we have already missed the beautiful desert and lovely people.

I have been to a lot of places in my life already and this is by far the most unique ever. I am definitely coming back. The owner is really friendly and we had a nice and cozy evening together with the other guests! And we saw the Milky Way!

It was a wonderful stay in the Bedouin ladies house.

It was a wonderful stay in the Bedouin ladies house. We communicate with hands as she don’t know much English, but we felt like in our own home after few minutes and enjoyed the sunset and sitting in the sand very much. Meals were so delicious and the sleep under stars was our highlight. We couldn’t drive our own car, because we only had a small suv , and booked the transfer additional. She is a very good desert driver and we had much fun.
