Cabañas Narasgandup (Naranjo Chico), hotel in Mamartupo

Featuring a restaurant, Cabañas Narasgandup (Naranjo Chico) features accommodation in Mamartupo.

The staff was super friendly and helpful, and you can't beat the view being right on the water! The island itself has so much to offer in terms of pristine water and water activities (swimming, snorkeling, etc) and we also loved the daily excursions they took us on to other nearby islands for just an additional $3 per person per excursion.

Discovery Gunayar, hotel in Mamartupo

Discovery Gunayar is situated in Waisalatupo. An American, vegetarian or vegan breakfast is available each morning at the property.

Beautiful tiny Island (600 meters around), food is most of times very tasty (3 meals per day included). People are very lovely, but give them some time to open up. Very nice snorkeling trips (not included!).

Gunayar amazing, hotel in Mamartupo

This was a fantastic getaway. There are about 12 huts on the island. They have a bare metal frame bed, sand floor, one outlet and a bulb for light. The sand on the beach was lovely, and the water was nice. The sand going into the water was nice in spots and rocky elsewhere. It is a small Island, so if you are going for a walk, you are doing circuits around the island. What was appealing for me was that three meals a day were provided, so I didn't have to forage for food. The food was good, and you ate in a common area, so it was easy to connect with the other travellers. I arranged for a boat to get to the island, which cost $60 in return for the two of us. The ferry desk wanted $100, and I got the better deal by speaking directly with one of the boaters.

You have to know that the island itself is very pretty, small and is meant for relaxation. The cottages are really rustic and beds aren’t comfortable, it is NOT a resort, you have to go with a mindset of staying on a deserted island and just be grateful that there are community toilets and shower. Definitely no luxuries but the views and star filled sky at night are awesome and worth the trip. The staff is amazingly friendly and they even have a solar panel fueled electrical socket in the dining area to recharge phone during the day

San blas islands are beautiful, and the Kunas are very friendly, but our experience at Mamartupo was less than perfect, even though we expected to rough it out, cabanas naranjo chico was a dirty run down place that did not deliver at all on the advertised paradise!! The hut was very very run down, the attitude of the staff was not great and the food not good at all. We also had to endure loud music until 11 am and babies crying and dogs barking from 5 am on, the beach was far away and along the way you could see how dirty and un-ecological the locals kept their island. We left early the next morning and took all boat from isla perro chico to the port without coming back for “lunch” I recommend san Blas island and enjoyed learning about the Kuna culture, I recommend also looking for the other many offers around the island Adbid Cabanas naranjo chico was below any standard.
