Pucallpa is more relaxed than Iquitos but The jungle in Peru is difficult in general for white foreigners. There is a lot of racism. It is not my favorite city in the jungle. Not a lot to wander around. People are very kind. I recommend visiting the boiling river but the bride's veil waterfall was a rip-off: too much travel time for something not amazing at all. Food was great everywhere, specially in: Tuyuyo, el Toro Pez and Ukaw. The rooms are comfortable and pristine, there's a great selection of delicious, healthy food, and the beautiful, lush gardens that surround the property make it hard to believe you're only a few minutes in a moto from the bustle and noise of the city. It was like an oasis of calm away from the bustle of Pucallpa. A lovely place to relax. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Food at the restaurant was tasty and I liked that this hotel catered for people on dietas. The nature and calm makes this hotel a really good choice for before and after an Ayahuasca retreat. Room was very clean and comfortable.
