I felt slightly unsafe as a female traveler here, there were not many likeminded travelers around me, it felt very congested and the locals here could not communicate easily with me as an english speaker. I didnt find people to be very friendly here. The beaches/bays here were not very beautiful and there were not many attractions or places to eat good food. Don't recommend staying here as a western traveler if you have the choice of going straight to Port Barton or El Nido (both of which are INCREDIBLE) :)

Like other cities in the PHL, Puerto Princesa has changed a lot over the past 30 years. More people, more vehicles, more shops, more resorts. One thing that has not changed YET is the respectfulness and courteousness of the local folks.
The highlight of Coron is its many options on island hopping tours.
The highlight of Busuanga is the Calauit Island -- a mini-Kenyan or Tanzanian Safari. The giraffe feeding event in Calauit is more enjoyable than in any giraffe safari in the world due to the sheer number of giraffe that goes to the feeding area.
The highlight of El Nido is its lovely high end resort and the twin lakes tour.
The highlight of Puerto Princesa is the Underground Cave.
San Vicente is now being developed as another option. Its beach is very long so this looks promising.
Having experienced the Palawan highlights, I am content with the peace and quiet at the Dolce Vita Hotel. Important for me is Dolce Vita's clean and deep swimming pool.

We stayed at the Astoria.
We stayed at the Astoria. The one thing that surprised me was they didn't take me ATM cards. I did have credit cards available and my traveling companion was local so I was able to work around it. The bed was a little firm, other than that, the room was perfect. They said the room didn't have a view, but the place is so pretty, the view of the grounds was still magnificent. Especially with the ocean peaking around the next building. The nightly show at dinner was great and the staff was sooooooo nice. We arranged a few tours and saw things like Port Barton and the Underground River. The island is beautiful and I would definitely go back.

The room (Water Villa) was good.
The room (Water Villa) was good. But the beaches are horrible and the food quality is extremely poor.. overall experience was disappointing. One would be better off booking at The or the Ritz Carlton for the same price.

The place is located on the quieter side of Puerto Princesa but still just around 10 min away from downtown Rizal Ave by car or motorcycle. The place is being managed personally by the couple owners. It has a view of the sea and is bordered with mangroves and fish ponds.
The place gives this classic mansion vibe.
Maybe because of their furniture, the chair tables which are really made of heavy hard wood which I associate with the style of the old money rich family.
It is just a walk away from Ka Joel restaurant and a few burger joints. .
The owner is a very artsy, eclectic styled Swiss guy who designed and had many dozens of wood carvings created, They are in every room and all over the grounds. It has a pool and would be a fine location for a smallish convention or club event. My room was large and clean. Poor Wi-Fi but all else worked fine. For only $1150 pesos it was a good deal for what I got. Helpful staff. I went back a few days after my first stay because it was a very god value, south of the airport in Puerto Princesa. Very quiet and peaceful.
we definitely have a great stay there. they given us amenities and even a rubber slippers which is cool. we got everything in the room we needed, a television, an aircon, wifi, and hot/cold shower. the staffs are so friendly and helped us to book for our tours. the breakfast is decent. I appreciate that they dropped us to the airport after checking out. Just don't forget to bring insect repellent. Overall, we have a wonderful stay and if your looking for a budget lodging to stay in Puerto Princesa, this is recommendable!
I've been to Kasamigos twice, once upon arriving in Puerto Princesa and again when returning from El Nido. I loved the place! The rooms are spacious and clean, with a small pool that's perfect for cooling off after activities.
The common areas have tables and chairs for relaxing, as well as a small hammock where you can take a wonderful nap.
The beds are comfortable, and the rooms have air conditioning. The owners are lovely and helped me organize my days in Palawan. Overall, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
We booked a room at Summer Days before and after our tour to the south of Palawan and we enjoyed every minute there! Joe, the owner, is super helpful and supported us greatly with organizing our next shuttle. The rooms are spacious, super clean and the bed incl. linen fabric is SO comfortable. The café serves great coffee variations and cereal breakfast! 😍Location wise it was perfect for us to commute to and from Puerto Princesa. We would book again next time in PP. Thank you for everything!
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. The buffet breakfast was very delicious and had lots of variety to choose from. We also enjoyed kayaking and my husband loved biking. My Mom trip over from one of the villa's rugs, thanks God there's a lot of staff standing nearby and help her out right away. Thank you everyone! I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Puerto Princesa.
Great service, awesome food selection at their restaurant, and very convenient location. Close to the airport and plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. The owner and staff were amazing; treated their guest like family. Has the best selection of breakfast, coffee, wine, and cocktails in all of Puerto Princesa.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stat at the Hue Hotel Puerto Princesa. The staff are super friendly and hospitable. Daily breakfast was delicious. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. Having the Robinson's Puerto Princesa next door was so convenient.
Super nice hotel in the center of Puerto princesa.Close to the airport and all the bars and souvenir shops. Pool is great plus for refreshing after day trips. Also very good massage service. It is a sin to miss that when staying in this hotel
One of best booking stays ever! Stunningly clean apartment with excellent WIFI and smart TV. Comfortable bed and super friendly helpful host Ken… was an amazing place! Will stay here again for sure if back in Puerto Princesa!
I only really booked a hotel in Puerto Princesa because I was arriving late and did not want to drive straight to El Nido after the flight. I just wanted a place to crash for the night so I didn't really care where I stayed.
Location was great, near airport and restaurants, 1km away from kinabutch resto, gym was decent, no mirrors though , and equipment on the low side, no pool also , ut for the price it was good.
The staff is very friendly, and the rental bikes provided by them are in a very decent condition, and in a reasonable price! Definitely the best choice to stay in Puerto Princesa!
