If someone wants to go directly to the seaside but on the other hand wants some peace and quiet - Koszalin may be the best place. It is only 14 km from Mielno and there is very frequent and cheap service from the local bus station, at least twice per hour. Also, I would strongly recommend visiting the local museum. Beautiful and unique architecture of Koszalin is worth mentioning too, some gothic churches are really impressive. In the city there is also a theater and an independent cinema famous for one of the most important Polish film festivals.

Knowing Koszalin from another stay 5 years ago, I must admit that the restaurant scene has entirely changed, probably due to the coronavirus crisis or for other reasons. In 2015, there were a number of Polish restaurants in the town serving excellent and inexpensive food. Now, only one (the one next to the regional museum) seemed to have survived but serves more or less convenience foods for double the prices than in 2015. Otherwise, the town did not change much. It is good for 1-2 days to stay there and to make trips to the beautiful surrounding region of Western Pomerania.

Close to the Baltic Sea.
Close to the Baltic Sea. Just a five hours lasting bus ride from Berlin. Beautiful landscape and nature (rivers, lakes and the sea). Wilderness around. Nice area for outdoor activities like biking and canoeing. Very good and cheap Polish food, especially the fish dishes are quite reommendable ! Nice parks! The city is not too big. Short distances. Not too many tourists there. Friendly people, especially in the traffic. Population - as in Poland in general - not used at all to dark-skinned people.

Great little city.
Great little city. Park you vehicle and walk towards downtown and you'll find plenty of shops, cafes and ATMs along the way. The fountain adjacent to the city hall can captivate you for the time it takes to indulge in some street food.
After a nap and dinner, call a cab for trip out to the multiplex cinema to catch the latest films in original language with subtitles (usually Polish, English, German combination.) Or window shop the attached shopping emporium for a taste of Pomerian glam! Plenty of bars blaring music to find one that has you checking out the dance floor.
If you are inclined to partake in services of faith during the weekend, internet can direct you to a multicultural variety of houses of worship. A big Polish dinner is the perfect cap on your weekend in Koszalin.
Palace is located in a small village with peaceful surroundings about 20 minutes South of Koszalin. Pretty exterior and interior design. Authentic but nicely renovated public spaces with great attention to historical detail. Beautifully decorated dining room and attractive park with pond, terraces and peacocks. Our room was small but tastefully furnished with quality antique cabinets, tables and wall artwork. Good breakfast buffet. Enclosed parking available. Windows open to allow air, if needed. Pleasant and helpful staff.
Cozy apartment with modern renovation. Spacious. There is everything you need for cooking. Bathroom with washing machine. Has everything you need for a long stay. Large balcony. dishwasher. I really liked the fitness mat and dumbbells as I work out every day.

The hotel is located in the center, close to the railway station. The bus station is also very close. The 4 star wing "Lux" is at a small side street, and is quiet. The lunch boxes are large and good.
A very clean, modern , comfortable hotel in a pretty part of town, and very close to the train station. The host was helpful and charming and a nice breakfast is available at a very reasonable price.
The apartment is bright, spacious, and very comfortable. It is close to Koszalin Philarmonic, and generally in the city centre. The host is very friendly and easy to communicate with.
Centrally located. Nice terrace overlooking a very green backyard. Spacious. Excellent communication with the hosts. Very nice overall, but there are little annoyances (see below).
