Wonderful place to use as a retreat for slow living and disconnecting. The whole property has been restored and looks absolutely beautiful. The rooms are spacious and comfy, the restaurant is just so cozy, and the village is exactly the quiet magical place you´d imagine. The food was fantastic and the owners lovely.

Pleasant room with traditional decor. Good location. Flexible breakfast time. Accommodation is expensive in the village, so this was reasonable value.

Charming traditional decorations all around the house, very clean rooms (I loved how the linen and towels smell, fresh and soft). The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The location is very convenient, on our way to the Via Transilvanica trail. We had our bicycles with us, but the property has a few bicycles you can use for free. Also a big plus was the restaurant, considering the village is small and doesn’t have many options for having a meal. The breakfast is included in the room rate (a nice surprise for us) and includes a wide range of good quality products incl. local food. Large yard with amazing views where you can relax, while sitting on the terrace or playing table tennis.
Quietly located near Rupea, 5 km from the town centre, Hotel-Restaurant Dumbrava offers accommodation with free WiFi and an à la carte restaurant with traditional cuisine.
Dating back to the 18th century, this renovated house is located in the Saxon village of Criţ, 12 km from Saschiz, a Unesco World Heritage Site. Free WiFi is provided at Convivium Transilvania.

Owner made considerable and laudable conservation efforts. Rooms have painted furniture and original items (e.g., dowry chests). Dinner tables are made from old oak beams. There is mostly good taste in renovation and extension choices. The place does not seem children friendly. Yet we had an infant with us and felt very welcome. Host is genuinely affable and amenable (to a point). I wonder why she draws the line where she does, but that is her prerogative. Some guests may find that absurd and/or unacceptable. Breakfast is included and otherwise generous. Upon request, she cooked for us. It was one of the best meals we had in the area! Yes, I am generally impressed both with the property and services.
The fortified church is definitely worth visiting.
The fortified church is definitely worth visiting. The terra-cotta tiles and small museum were great. There is an absolutely wonderful view of the village if you climb to the top of the church tower.
