Beautiful and compact size city. Not too crowded yet.
Beautiful and compact size city. Not too crowded yet. Easy travel from/to Arlanda airport. Bus(801) is cheaper than train. Short distances almost everywhere in the city. Rentable E-bikes and E-scooters available. English language is widely in use. My experiences are from summertime only. I`ll definately come back again.

Uppsala is one of Sweden's oldest cities and well worth a visit. I had not been for 30 years and was so pleasantly surprised how much there was to do both within the city and just outside the city. It's very walkable and very safe. I loved my visit to the University Library to see the Silver Bible "Codex Argenteus". I also love churches and the Cathedral the biggest in Scandinavia did not disappoint. Gustav Vasa the founder of Modern Sweden is buried here. The botanical garden I am sure is wonderful later in the year when it's all blooming. I ate at the cafe near the gardens called Cafe Victoria and it was excellent. There are lots of eateries and "watering holes" but be mindful alcohol sold in bars and restaurants are very pricey. Use the Systembolaget and get a bottle and have a picnic in the park. Uppsala is a university city so very lively and has easy access to Stockholm should you wish.

The fourth largest city in Sweden.
The fourth largest city in Sweden. A university city that can be compared to Cambridge in the UK. Famous for its cathedral and university campus. Also hosts a very good choice of bars and restaurants. Located 55mins from Stockholm City and only a short train ride from Arlanda Airport.

City I love to visit, very easy for tourists, good shopping and restaurants. Public transport is great, or you can hire a bicycle and get round like the locals.
Clean and safe, lots of history, old city, cathedral and castle. Was once the capital of Sweden.
Very close to nature, easy to get to the old Viking mounds.
Down side, it's expensive,

I actually live here so I only have good things to say about it. The city is big but not too big. Not crowded. Clean. It is beautiful with a lot of historical sites to visit. It is also very interpenetration and it's extremely easy to get around with just english. Public transportation is top notch, but if you have the opportunity to bike instead, do it.
Everything- from five star quality meals (we were pleasantly surprised a gourmet dinner was included in the evenings) to a spotlessly clean room. The hotel had a very homey feel to it and everything was so pleasant and relaxing. We never imagined that the food would be so exquisite and we saved a lot not having to dine out. Abundant hot and cold breakfast buffet with so many choices - again we raved about the superb meals. Everything was cozy and had a very relaxing vibe. The staff were fantastic.
- Amazing breakfast buffet! Even with Swedish standards. This was the most extensive breakfast buffet I've ever seen in a hotel
- They rent bikes for cheap (~60 SEK for half day, 120SEK for full day)
- Staff were friendly and helped us with our inquiries. We changed our room to one with a queen bed, and they helped us exploring our options for bike day trips
- Location is just beside transport to/from airport/Stockholm. And it is quiet. You don't hear the trains.
- Great view from the room
You get what you pay for. We booked Svava due to the price and then you cannot expect the best hotel in the city.
Breakfast was sufficient and available over a longer time, with fresh fruits and most of the stuff you need for a good breakfast. The room was clean, the staff friendly and the location is perfect! 2 minutes walk from the central station, 3 minutes to the city centre.
Great service with an open lunch area with microwave available for use.
Friendly relaxed communal area, free tea and coffee, places to sit and relax indoors and outdoors. A very good selection for breakfast and food and drink when required during the day/evening. Room was fairly basic but good for the price, facing the Linne Gardens it was quiet for a city hotel.
A short walk from the railway station and all the main sights of Uppsala, a great place to stay.
Nice restaurant, remote-work-friendly environment. Gym is comfortable, there is a sauna and a relaxation room but there is no pool in this hotel. Breakfast was amazing. Ice machine in corridors but no fridge in the room. Beds are comfortable, room is neat and clean. Might be the best hotel in Uppsala.
Great location, near to the Cathedral, the palace as well as the city centre. The room and bathroom were very clean and the large double bed was comfortable. The breakfast was ample and varied. Next time we are passing through Uppsala we will be staying here again.
Staff is nice and willing to help.
Owner is simply amazing, helping in all what make any difficult and is not clear enough for the guests . All personnel is smiling and is really friendly.
Place is quite close to the city centre and to the famous Uppsala Arena.
Over the last years, I chose Akademi hotell for all my visits to Uppsala. I would not have done so if I didn't like there. Rooms, breakfast, facilities, location ... for me the best choice. And the staff is very nice and helpful.
The staff was exceptional , the installations has everything that you need for your visit in Uppsala, the customer service , advices and clean was excellent. Additional all the rooms has light that it's so important in a hostal.
Great, cosy, super central. Nice breakfast. Great small hotel in walking distance to downtown. Staff was nice and helpful. Uppsala is very enjoyable and the Swedes are very warm and friendly people.
