Ptuj is a lovely historic town.
Ptuj is a lovely historic town. There are thermal pools which are a little dated but still very pleasant. The best experience was the visit to the castle. After you buy your ticket you can visit an exhbition about local carnival tradition (Kurenti) and an exhibition showing the production of cotton, silk, linen and wool. Then you can go to the castle which has three floors. You can explore various exhibitions on your own, there are paintings, weapons, furniture, and a lot more. Very nice old town with a pleasant town centre. Easily walkable and nice pedestrianised areas. Quite a few sights to see, easily visitable in one or two days. Good choice of restaurants with lovely local food. We didn't do any cycling but it looks like a great place and area for cycling. The river and local area are interesting for birdwatching. Ptuj (especially city center) is nice, cozy (the oldest in Slovenia) town with rich history to tell, some really interesting bars and all that is reachable on foot. If you like beer, go to Bodi bar, if you like more "indie" scene go to Muzikakafe bar.

Small city, very nice, can see in a day or two. Outdoor cinema at local theater was great. Castle is cool. Terme Ptuj (waterpark) only fair. There is a free bus that can get you from the bus station (across street from train station) to center of city, and to Terme. We walked, but it was a bit warm and we had luggage, so knowing about bus in advance would have been good. Hotel staff had no clue.

Cute little town full of history and character. Visited during kurentovanje and was completely impressed at the joy the local people expressed towards one another and visitors. Felt genuinely embraced by the whole community and got a good sense of who Slovenian people truly are.JonathanCanada

We used the garden furniture and sat and enjoyed the beautiful panoramic view, hence the name of the B & B. Easy to walk into Ptuz to go to the restaurants. Loved having Robby the dog wandering around, it was like home from home, and the quiet little cat said Hello too! Fantastic breakfast. All in all, staying here was a one of the highlights of our holiday to Slovenia.

He greeted us upon our arrival and was so accommodating and helpful. The room was large, clean and so comfortable with ample parking on site. This bnb is located in an old monastery that has been renovated so we enjoyed the beautiful woodwork and attention to simple details. The breakfast offered a nice variety of foods. Ptuj is a lovely little town and worth a visit- definitely stay at Sobe Postija!
