I arrived in the pouring rain. Nathalie and her gardiner, Julien, met me at the entrance. Nathalie held a huge umbrella for me while Julien took care of all of my baggage.
The room is pristine with picture windows overlooking a fecund garden with a large baobab tree just to the right.
The bed and pillows are comfy with nice accents. There is a hot shower which was a welcomed relief from the long trip from Dakar. The area is very quiet, except for the chirping of birds that are also lovely to see.
This property is a great value and the host is extremely hospitable, helpful with local information, very warm and kind. I highly recommend this place.

Campament Tyliboo is a welcoming place in the middle of the nature, with lots of trees and fruit that you can pick up every morning. Bibi is one of the best cooks I encountered in Senegal and Ousmane was a great guide bringing us around and showing us the beauty of Kafountine. 100% recommended!

A piece of Paradise, we loved EVERYTHING here, amazing hospitality! We stayed in the beautiful (clay) ECO House, constructed by the owner himself, with lots of love for details ("dry toilet") a marvelous garden and delicious food.
If you are crazy enough to arrive by car, you might want to leave it at the main road and take a shortcut by walking, as it's pretty adventurous otherwise...
No hot water - which wasn't a problem at all

It is a very nice place. In a very quiet location in the forest. Plenty of vegetation. We very much liked the staff and they became our friends: Petit Joe, Babu and others. Neighbors are friendly and we made friends in the village very soon. The owner Malika and manager Albert are good persons, they help. Recommended. more: linktr.ee/nomadicmind

Abene is a relaxed village by the beach, with a nice dance and music scene.
The beach is quite clean (according to Senegal standards) and beautiful to enjoy during sunset, with all the pirogues coming back from fishery.
We were there during the Abene Festivalo: a music festival that happens from the end of December to the beginning of January.
The festival is more like a one stage concert with several musicians and dancers coming from all over Africa. Many are not so good, but there were amazing performances as well. Too bad the quality of the sound system was so poor.
It is also quite disturbing to see that locals have to pay to enter the area of the festival. Given the fact that it is too expensive for most of them, the audience is full of foreigners and only locals who can afford it, while the others stay outside.
On new year's eve, the party happens at the beach (starting quite late!). Random and awesome live performances of percussion happen, while everyone is dancing around the bonfires. Luckily, it is open to everyone!
There are also a lot of dance and djambé classes available. Even though it is quite tiring, always negotiate!

The place is very charming.
The place is very charming. Simple, rustic, local accommodation but clean and comfortable and the location is perfect - seconds from a beautiful beach and a bar and a short walk from other bars and restaurants. Recommended
